Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/3hqjk9/global_unified) has announced the addition of the "Global Unified Communication as-a-Service Market 2012-2016" report to their offering.
The analysts forecast the Global Unified Communication as-a-service (UCaaS) market to grow at a CAGR of 25.46 percent over the period 2012-2016. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the increasing need for centralized management. The Global Unified Communication as-a-service (UCaaS) market has also been witnessing the adoption of cloud-based enterprise services. However, the requirement for a high bandwidth could pose a challenge to the growth of this market.
The key vendors dominating this space include Avaya Inc., Alcatel-Lucent SA., Cisco Systems Inc., and Microsoft Corp.
The other vendors mentioned in the report are 8x8 Inc., CSC, Google Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co., IBM Corp., Mitel Networks, PanTerra Networks Inc., ShoreTel Inc., AT and T Inc., British Telecom Group plc., Deutsche Telekom AG, Orange Telecom, Sprint Nextel Corp., Telefonica SA, Telstra Corp. Ltd., and Verizon Wireless.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from the Telecom team said: 'The cost of implementing a new infrastructure is high. Hence, organizations are reluctant to dispose of their existing legacy systems and install new systems. Cloud-based services are developed to help organizations minimize their infrastructure cost. They provide them with a better-quality service and reduce the cost incurred during maintenance, thus increasing the adoption of UCaaS by organizations.'
According to the report, one of the major drivers is the increased need for centralized management. UCaaS manages all the administrative tasks in a centralized manner; administrators can perform the task once and the data will be updated at every relevant location. The data can be accessed and information can be communicated without time and location constraints. This improves the reliability of the system and also saves time.
Further, the report states that one major challenge is the need for high bandwidth to share huge amounts of data through the cloud. As there is a scarcity of high bandwidth, this can hamper the quality of the service provided. This can delay the decision-making process in an organization, which may affect the organization's productivity and therefore adversely affect the growth of the Global UCaaS market.

WebRTC services have already permeated corporate communications in the form of videoconferencing solutions. However, WebRTC has the potential of going beyond and catalyzing a new class of services providing more than calls with capabilities such as mass-scale real-time media broadcasting, enriched and augmented video, person-to-machine and machine-to-machine communications. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Luis Lopez, CEO of Kurento, will introduce the technologies required for implementing thes...
