GSTS Pathology gain intelligent insight into their business with Ascribe Business Intelligence

GSTS Pathology have implemented Ascribe's Business Intelligence (BI) solution to advance the processing, analysis and reporting of business data through the creation of a minimum data set that integrates activity data across all sites and platforms and allows for a single view of the activity within the business.

Working in close partnership GSTS Pathology and Ascribe have built a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 platform to leverage insight from millions of historic and current data records which can now be easily accessed, analysed and reported upon, creating greater capacity for trend, variance and predictive analysis.

Using Excel 2013 to connect to the BI reporting solution gives users a familiar interface on which to simply manage their views of activity. Provision of standard, intuitive templates also allows for quick and simple access to business critical data and by exploiting the new breed of Microsoft Power BI tools such as PowerPivot, Power View and Power Map in Excel, data model prototypes and appealing visualisations of activity data can be created.

Darren DaCosta, Head of Projects, commented "the business had reached a position where it was desirable to improve on its current reporting platform to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Ascribe have met this requirement with a flexible, scalable, industry standard BI solution which meets our current and future demands for information and our expected large growth in data volumes."

Paul Henderson, Ascribe's Business and Clinical Information Lead, commented "our work with GSTS Pathology is a strong example of our close partnership working with complex organisations to improve integration of their data; providing clarity on information throughout the business in a comprehensible BI reporting solution."
