Healthcare Payers Enhance Consumer Engagement through New Healthx and InstaMed Partnership

Healthx, a provider of cloud-based solutions for healthcare organizations to drive member engagement and provider collaboration, announced today that it has partnered with InstaMed, the leading Healthcare Payments Network. This partnership enables payers with Healthx member portals to enhance their consumer engagement by allowing members to manage and pay healthcare payments for all of their providers, in one convenient place.

This integrated payment solution, InstaMed Member Payments, enables payers to enhance their consumer engagement by delivering a simple and intuitive consumer payment experience. Leveraging InstaMed’s nationwide network of providers, Member Payments immediately connects consumers to all of their providers for payment, directly from their Healthx member portal.

“Healthcare consumerism is driving many payers to engage with their members through customized Healthx member portals,” said Win Norton, Chief Technology Officer of Healthx. “By partnering with InstaMed, we have enhanced our member portals by bridging the gap between consumers and their healthcare finances, allowing our payers to differentiate their offering.”

“The growth in high deductible health plans is accelerating, and consumers have become more sensitive to their healthcare costs,” said Bill Marvin, President and CEO of InstaMed. “The Member Payments solution caters to this sensitivity and consumer payment expectations by enabling payment through a member portal. This allows consumers to pay their healthcare bills all in one place and immediately understand how it affects their deductibles.”

About Member Payments

The Member Payments solution addresses the challenges of healthcare consumerism by delivering a unique and innovative payment channel to connect patients to all of their providers for payment. With InstaMed Member Payments, providers get paid by patients based on the patient’s responsibility as determined by the claim adjudication process and upon the approval of the patient. As a result, providers get paid faster and more efficiently, without sending patient statements. Providers can also set up automated posting to their billing system. The Member Payments solution is available free of charge with no incremental costs to healthcare providers.

InstaMed is independently audited, certified and accredited with state and federal regulations that govern the financial networks. InstaMed is HIPAA compliant and the only network to achieve full accreditations with the Healthcare Network Accreditation Program (HNAP) and the Financial Services Accreditation Program (FSAP) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC).

Yet companies are falling for cloud security myths that were truths at one time but have evolved out of existence.
