IAA's Don Hermanek Nominated To Illinois Association of SkillsUSA Board Of Directors

WESTCHESTER, Ill., March 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. (IAA), the leading live and live-online salvage auto auction company and wholly-owned subsidiary of KAR Auction Services, Inc. (NYSE: KAR), today announced that Senior Vice President and Chief Client Officer Don Hermanek has been nominated to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Association of SkillsUSA (Illinois SkillsUSA) for a two-year term. In this role, Hermanek will work with the board to lead local initiatives in the state that will further the association's mission of developing leaders for tomorrow and ensuring America's skilled workforce.

Illinois SkillsUSA, a state affiliated association of the national SkillsUSA, serves high school and college students and professional members who are enrolled in technical, skilled and service occupations. Illinois SkillsUSA has approximately 3,500 members in chapters throughout the state. As a member of the Illinois SkillsUSA Board of Directors, Hermanek will help to reorganize the board to better serve its more than 70 chapters across the state. The board will also be responsible for highlighting SkillsUSA opportunities for high school and college students in Illinois and creating programs for the association to better enhance the communication between volunteers and schools.

Hermanek is a 35+ year veteran of the automotive claims and salvage industry. Prior to assuming his current role, Hermanek was senior vice president of Sales and Marketing, which also included field sales, corporate accounts and all marketing leadership for IAA. Before joining IAA in 2000, Hermanek served as vice president of Business Development for Consolidated Services Corp. (now Lease Plan), vice president of National Sales for Safelite Glass Corporation, and vice president of Sales for ADP Claims Services (now Audatex/Solera). He is a member of numerous industry and professional associations and most recently was appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Collision Repair Education Foundation.  He holds a BS in Marketing from the University of Illinois-Chicago and began his professional career with the IBM Corporation.

IAA has been an official sponsor of the national division of SkillsUSA since 2012. To date, IAA and sister company ADESA have donated $100,000 in support of key leadership development programming and SkillsUSA's overall mission.
