SAN FRANCISCO, CA and LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- 03/25/14 -- BrightRoll, the only independent and unified programmatic video advertising platform, today announced the expansion of its executive team with the appointment of Andy Mitchell as managing director of European operations. In this role, Mitchell is responsible for leading sales and business strategy to drive the adoption of programmatic video in the European market.

BrightRoll is making investments to expand its operations in Europe and meet growing demand for programmatic video platforms. Mitchell brings over 20 years of digital media and advertising technology experience to BrightRoll and is focused on driving transparent financial efficiency, agile and iterative product deployment and simple, scalable ease of trade. He leads a growing team out of the company's European headquarters in London.

"The BrightRoll platform is unique in that it unites buyers and sellers in a single marketplace, which creates significant efficiencies," said Andy Mitchell, managing director of BrightRoll Europe. "I am very much looking forward to helping advertisers and publishers realize the value of direct programmatic transactions."

The use of programmatic technology, including real-time bidding (RTB), to buy digital video advertising is experiencing rapid growth in Europe. According to IHS, research partner of IAB Europe, programmatic video ad buying across the "big five" European markets (UK, France, Spain, Germany and Italy) will grow an average of 77 percent a year and be worth an estimated EUR 627 million by 2017.

BrightRoll has built a trusted, unified programmatic platform that enables buyers and sellers of digital video advertising to maximize efficiencies and ROI. The company put the technology infrastructure in place to expand the programmatic capabilities of its platform to power the digital advertising market in Europe, and most recently, announced a new data center in Europe to meet explosive demand in the region. BrightRoll has seen more than 600 percent business growth since first opening its European offices in 2011.

"BrightRoll is seeing an upward trajectory in the European market and we've been searching for a candidate of Andy's caliber to further expand our leadership position in the region," said Charles Whittingham, senior vice president of sales, BrightRoll. "It's rare to find leaders in the industry with such extensive knowledge of the digital ad ecosystem and programmatic landscape, and BrightRoll will certainly benefit from the expertise he brings to the team."

Mitchell has held a number of leadership positions working with brands, agencies, agency trading desks (ATDs), demand-side platforms (DSPs), ad tech companies and the publisher market in Europe. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Rightster, and prior to that, spent six years as managing director at ANyMedia, the advertising network and technology division of Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT). In this role, Mitchell was instrumental in the commercial success of Mail Online through the development of digital advertising teams and implementation of programmatic initiatives. Previous experience includes roles as media development director at Panasonic and development director at Ogilvy & Mather. Mitchell also served as managing director at DoubleClick UK, where he was responsible for growing the team from five to 140 employees, which led to success in securing deals with some of the most prominent brands in Europe.

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...

The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...
Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.

Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time. Enterprises are adopting Kubernetes to accelerate the development and the delivery of cloud-native applications. However, sharing a Kubernetes cluster between members of the same team can be challenging. And, sharing clusters across multiple teams is even harder.
