GETIT Powers Maxis’ FINDIT - Malaysia’s Largest Digital Directory Service

In an increasingly mobile-centric world, access to information and on-the-go has never been more critical. Mobile technology continues to simplify lives by connecting us all with information that we want, wherever we are, at any time. GETIT Transnational (P) Ltd. announced today that its search services have gone live in Malaysia, in partnership with Maxis Berhad – Malaysia’s leading communications services provider.

GETIT has developed a model wherein it partners with Telcos in international markets to enable a host of services on their networks – including Local Search, Classifieds, Deals/Discounts and eventually e-Commerce.

FINDIT in Malaysia is the first of GETIT’s international launches and it is already set to be Malaysia’s largest digital directory service. Regarding the concept, Sidharth Gupta, Executive Director, GETIT Transnational (P) Ltd., said, “We are delighted to work with Maxis and bring our global experience to the Malaysian market with cutting edge mobile search and classifieds solutions. FINDIT seeks to empower Malaysian consumers and businesses and be the preferred platform for them to connect effortlessly.”

For the launch of FINDIT services, an experiential event was held in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month where T. Kugan, Maxis’ Head of Digital Services, said, “Searching for information on mobile devices is the second most popular internet activity after emails, with 46% of users using their mobile devices as a primary search tool. FINDIT is a service that is therefore relevant to our modern day lifestyles, especially when we are constantly on the go. Importantly, this service puts the power in our customers’ hands and allows them to always stay connected.”

For consumers, FINDIT provides access to information on 175,000 business listings in over 2,500 categories, including location maps and driving directions, directly from their mobile phones. Consumers can also enjoy special offers and promotions from various merchants listed in the directory, which they can redeem immediately. FINDIT is available for download via mobile app, website, and WAP portal for both Android and iOS users.

For businesses, FINDIT serves as an important tool to help increase visibility to a much wider market, capitalizing on the popular mobile platform to connect with their own customers. FINDIT’s location-based feature also enables users to search for product and services closest to their location.

In emphasizing the importance of FINDIT as a mobile platform for the enterprise segment, Abraham Foss, Maxis’ Head of Enterprise, said, “FINDIT is a representation of how Maxis can simplify lives and create new ways of working for businesses. In an increasingly mobile-driven business environment, FINDIT enables Malaysian businesses to reach out to a wider market and establish a larger presence by simply listing themselves on the directory with basic information for free, with the option to enhance their profiles with richer content such as pictures, GPS coordinates and more.”

FINDIT is available to all for free on multiple platforms: by downloading the FINDIT app on both Android and iOS operating systems from Google Play and App Store respectively; via mobile site at m.findit.com.my or website at www.findit.com.my. FINDIT is also available exclusively for Maxis customers via UMB by dialing *200# from their mobile.

GETIT will also be expanding its services in other countries in partnership with Telcos. “We are working on similar win-win models in other international markets. Each market is different and the specific nuances have to be understood well. We focus on adapting the model such that we create a very useful service for the market and immense value for the Telco/partners,” added Gupta.
