Five Tips For A Hoppier Easter Celebration

GAINESVILLE, Va., March 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- These days, everyone is looking for quick and inexpensive ways to add color to their Easter celebration. Beth DePompei, Entertaining Essentials Director at GreatGatherings.com, shares her five, easy tips for putting more color into your Easter gathering.

GreatGatherings recommends adding "Stacks & Sticks" to your Easter gathering. This image must be used in conjunction with the news release with which it was originally distributed.

1. Carrot Cutlery: "Wrap green plastic cutlery in orange paper napkins, creating a cone shape with the napkin and keeping the bottom closed. Secure with a green ribbon, and it takes on the look of a carrot. Display all the carrot cutlery sets in a colorful basket."

2. Stack & Sticks: "Stack Pastel-colored M&Ms or Jelly Beans in jars, one color layer at a time, and then insert some pinwheels for a festive centerpiece. Or, opt for Peeps on a Stick instead of pinwheels. Simply stick Marshmallow Peeps on sticks and tie each with a ribbon."

3. Easter Deviled Eggs: "Super simple and makes for a festive display. Prepare your deviled eggs as usual, but dye the boiled egg white halves before filling. Keep them in the dye as long as you want until you get your desired color. Be sure to display them on a beautiful pastel-colored platter for that final Easter touch. A great option is the Bohemian Tile Turquoise 16" Serving Tray."

4. Chalkboard Pots: "Add blooming bulbs in terra cotta pots for a cheery pop of spring color. Write on the pots with chalk for some festive fun. Make the décor seamless and continue the chalkboard idea in your appetizer display, using Slate Cheese Boards for a fun twist on a platter."

5. Mason Jars & Milk Bottles: "Line up mason jars or milk bottles down the middle of your buffet for a simple and understated look. Fill the mason jars with water and lemon slices before placing in your bloom bunches. Milk bottles can simply have a single-stemmed flower with water, or you can float jellybeans for a more 'Easter' look. Jars with handles can add a vintage look."
