Central Park II, Gurgaon Ups the Luxury Quotient - Unveils India's First Vehicle Free at Ground Level - Luxury Residential Development

As befits a luxury condominium, the entrance to Central Park II is resplendently lined with palm trees and spectacular water features. Yet, what sets it apart is a state-of the-art tunnel, just after the entrance gates.

In order to keep its 20-acre expanse of green free from cars, Central Park II has invested an additional US$10 million in this tunnel that leads to an underground road network which connects with the lobbies of each residential tower. Since all traffic is routed underground, residents have an uninterrupted 20 acre car-free landscaped green vista at ground level. Moreover, the guests of the residents will be escorted by especially trained hospitality staff in zero emission Electric Golf Carts to the respective lobby of the tower, where they are received by the concierge, so that they can reach their planned destination conveniently.    

The benefits of green infrastructure within built environments are compelling. A recent study of over 350,000 people by the UK government found that those who lived around green spaces lived longer, happier and healthier lives. Both - visual access and being within a green space - are seen to help restore the mind's ability to focus and alleviate mental fatigue by relaxing the mind. This is believed to lead to improved performance - be it on the job or at school, and to significantly lower stress levels. Additionally, a new study at the European Centre for Environment and Human Health, which followed 1,000 subjects over a five-year period, suggests that an increase in the green space in a person's surroundings might be one of the key conditions that affect one's state of happiness.
