TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - March 28, 2014) - Now in its eighth year, Earth Hour aims to engage hundreds of millions of people to support different environmental priorities across the planet. To promote adoption of clean solar energy, PURE Energies is partnering with Mike Holmes to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The PURE Energies #momentofdarkness initiative invites you to take action against climate change by learning more about solar power.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED WITH #MOMENTOFDARKNESS 2014

  1. This Saturday, March 29, switch off your lights between 8:30-9:30pm. This simple act makes a difference.
  2. Now, visit our special #momentofdarkness web page and help raise money for WWF.
  3. If 5,000 people learn more about going solar, DIY expert and TV personality Mike Holmes will donate $5,000 to the WWF.

"Earth Hour has always been more than just about lights off, it's about people from all walks of life coming together throughout the year to show what they can do to protect the planet," says Andy Ridley, CEO and co-founder of Earth Hour from the movement's home in Singapore. "What makes Earth Hour different is that it empowers people to take charge and to use their power to make a difference. The movement inspires a mixture of collective and individual action, so anyone can do their part."

WebRTC is about the data channel as much as about video and audio conferencing. However, basically all commercial WebRTC applications have been built with a focus on audio and video. The handling of “data” has been limited to text chat and file download – all other data sharing seems to end with screensharing. What is holding back a more intensive use of peer-to-peer data? In her session at @ThingsExpo, Dr Silvia Pfeiffer, WebRTC Applications Team Lead at National ICT Australia, looked at differ...
Adding public cloud resources to an existing application can be a daunting process. The tools that you currently use to manage the software and hardware outside the cloud aren’t always the best tools to efficiently grow into the cloud. All of the major configuration management tools have cloud orchestration plugins that can be leveraged, but there are also cloud-native tools that can dramatically improve the efficiency of managing your application lifecycle. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, ...
