Verne Global, an innovative, UK-based developer of energy efficient data center campuses, today announced they will present at three global industry events throughout the month of April, focusing on the power and energy demand for processing today’s most data-intensive applications. Whether its hosting companies deploying cloud services, automobile manufacturers using high-performance computing (HPC) to create the next-generation of connected cars or enterprises managing the influx of big data into their organizations, they all have one thing in common – the need to better manage the power consumption required by the growing demand for such applications. Throughout the month, executives from Verne Global will share their expertise on how companies can better understand and improve their energy efficiency, and TCO, with the latest power trends in the data center industry.
To kick things off, Verne Global will present and exhibit at World Hosting Day, April 1-3. At the three-day event in Freiburg, Germany, Verne Global will showcase how companies can tackle HPC problems in a cost-effective way. On April 2, Jorge Balcells, Verne’s Director of Technical Services, presents a session titled “Tackling HPC challenges: massive power demands and the environmental cost – how one car manufacturer has made a difference.” The customer case study highlights how the BMW Group is working with Verne Global to cut carbon emissions by 3,570 metric tons and reduce the cost of powering its HPC applications by as much as 82 percent.
At Automotive Europe in Munich, Jeff Monroe, CEO of Verne Global, and Susanne Obermeier of BMW Group’s Data Centre Management team will present a session titled “The Smart Data Strategy to Power Automotive Apps.” The April 8th session will focus on finding a solution to the high costs of storing, processing and powering applications involved with automotive prototype creation and application development. Monroe and Obermeier will also explore how companies can overcome computing challenges and provide a positive return on investment (ROI) by selecting data centers using smart, green solutions.
Tate Cantrell, CTO of Verne Global, will speak on April 24 in New York City as part of the Bloomberg Enterprise Technology Summit. On a panel session titled “Data Center Strategies” Cantrell will use his expertise in design, development and data center operations to provide thought provoking insight regarding the current state of the industry and where the market looks to go in the near future.
