Nimbus Data Ranked #1: Gemini All-Flash Array Declared “Best-in-Class” in DCIG All-Flash Research Report

Nimbus Data Systems, Inc., the leading innovator in next-generation flash memory infrastructure, today announced that its Gemini all-flash arrays received the top-ranking in the 2014-15 Flash Memory Storage Array Buyer’s Guide published by independent storage research firm DCIG, LLC. Analysts with DCIG evaluated 39 offerings from 20 companies, selecting Nimbus Data’s Gemini F600 and F400 as Best-in-Class (#1) and Recommended (#2), respectively.

“The DCIG Buyer’s Guide is designed to aid customers with their flash storage array buying decisions, enabling them to quickly create a shortlist of products to choose from, accelerating their selection process,” said Ken Clipperton, Managing Analyst, DCIG. “It’s through careful and extensive evaluation that the rankings are performed and we’re pleased to announce that Nimbus Data’s Gemini arrays bested the competition. The Gemini arrays stand out for their combination of comprehensive data efficiency and flash optimization technologies, excellent support for multiple hypervisors, superior flash storage density, high performance multiprotocol connectivity, non-disruptive upgrades, and power efficiency. These capabilities, combined with some of the lowest latencies and highest IOPS per rack unit in the marketplace, make Nimbus Data’s Gemini all-flash array a compelling solution to many data center challenges.”

The analysis was based on an initial survey of more than 150 questions from each of the participating companies. Product capabilities were then assessed based on data provided by the vendor, prior DCIG research, and information available in the public domain. After gathering all necessary information, the product features were then scored and weighted by DCIG analysts. Once scores were compiled, products were rated Best-in-Class, Recommended, Excellent, Good, or Basic, which were determined by core functionality and capability relative to the other products included in the Buyer’s Guide.

“The all-flash array market can seem complex and crowded, making purchasing decisions extremely difficult for customers,” said Thomas Isakovich, CEO and Founder of Nimbus Data. “DCIG has simplified the all-flash array evaluation and buying process by analyzing, filtering, and rating solutions from all of the top vendors. We’re thrilled that the Gemini F600 and F400 arrays came out on top and received this special recognition, validating the industry-leading quality and innovation that customers experience when buying from Nimbus Data.”
