Cavender Buick GMC West shows off Buick Enlcave

Buick SUV has more capability than Toyota Highlander at base trim

SAN ANTONIO, April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Finding a full-size crossover SUV with the necessary power to accelerate to comfortably to highway speeds just got easier with the 2014 Buick Enclave. This large crossover, available at Cavender Buick GMC West, is ready to serve its new owner right out of the box. The Cavender Buick GMC West research department is always looking for ways to show the intrinsic value of their vehicles over the competition. To that end, they chose the 2014 Buick Enclave vs. the 2014 Toyota Highlander. For what it's worth, the Toyota Highlander is one of the more formidable options to take on the 2014 Enclave, if it weren't for one odd short coming.

For SUVs of this size to be properly and safely able to get up and going, it takes a fair amount of power. The 2014 Buick Enlcave comes with a 3.6-liter, V-6 engine that has a top engine output of 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Conventional wisdom would dictate that this would be the least amount of power available to a body on frame SUV like the Toyota Highlander. That is not the case, the 2014 Highlander base model is outfitted with a 2.7-liter, four-cylinder engine that turns out more than 100 horsepower less than the V-6 on the Enclave.

Even playing devil's advocate for the Highlander, one could say that with the lower power output, there must be a huge gain in fuel-economy. This is also not the case. Yes, the four-cylinder engine under the hood of the 2014 Highlander had Environmental Protection agency scores of 20 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. This is only three miles per gallon more than the Enclave posts in the city with 100 more horsepower and a one mpg difference on the highway. While the Highlander does offer a V-6 engine, a customer has to navigate through a couple of trim levels to get there first.

To Really Work for Enterprises, MultiCloud Adoption Requires Far Better and Inclusive Cloud Monitoring and Cost Management … But How? Overwhelmingly, even as enterprises have adopted cloud computing and are expanding to multi-cloud computing, IT leaders remain concerned about how to monitor, manage and control costs across hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. It’s clear that traditional IT monitoring and management approaches, designed after all for on-premises data centers, are falling short in ...

It is ironic, but perhaps not unexpected, that many organizations who want the benefits of using an Agile approach to deliver software use a waterfall approach to adopting Agile practices: they form plans, they set milestones, and they measure progress by how many teams they have engaged. Old habits die hard, but like most waterfall software projects, most waterfall-style Agile adoption efforts fail to produce the results desired. The problem is that to get the results they want, they have to ch...
Organizations planning enterprise data center consolidation and modernization projects are faced with a challenging, costly reality. For far too long technology teams have lived in siloes. Not only physical siloes, but cultural siloes pushed by competing objectives. This includes informational siloes where business users require one set of data and tech teams require different data. DevOps intends to bridge these gaps to make tech driven operations more aligned and efficient.
Without a clear strategy for cost control and an architecture designed with cloud services in mind, costs and operational performance can quickly get out of control. To avoid multiple architectural redesigns requires extensive thought and planning.
