Something new, something blue: Mattamy Homes unveils new logo

Refreshed image speaks to both past and future of leading North American homebuilder

OAKVILLE, ON, April 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Mattamy Homes has unveiled a new logo to represent the 35-year-old homebuilding company. The new logo is a more contemporary and unique symbol for Mattamy, designed to refresh its visual representation while continuing to build on a strong brand presence and reputation.

The previous logo has been in use since the mid-1990s, when Mattamy's business was focused for the most part on single-family homes and communities in the Greater Toronto Area. Nearly 20 years later, Mattamy now builds multiple product types across North America. The new logo better reflects an expanded scope of product offering and markets, now and in the future.

"Mattamy's current logo has served the company very well since its creation," says Peter Gilgan, Mattamy's Founder & CEO. "However, as we prepare for the company's next 35 years and as we embark on a significant growth strategy, it was clear that the logo was in need of updating. We wanted to develop something that was a more modern reflection of our product and of our customer mindset, and that spoke to all various markets in which we operate, and will operate."

From a design standpoint, the goal was a refreshed visual identity with a modern look that would appeal to Mattamy's varied and growing customer base, while still keeping the logo recognizably "Mattamy". The three elements of font, colour and shape were refreshed. "Our new logo is memorable, engaging, simple, and speaks to both our company's enduring past and bright future," says Laura Di Paolo, Mattamy's Senior Vice-President, Corporate Marketing. "We're all very proud of our history and legacy, as represented by the previous logo, and the refresh was an opportunity to reaffirm Mattamy's vision and brand story. Our logo has changed, but what we stand for as a company hasn't."
