The new A.C. Moore mobile app, which is available for Apple iOS and Android devices, is designed to engage A.C. Moore's customers at their moment of creative inspiration.  Through the app, mobile users can instantly access A.C. Moore's weekly ads, review its ever-popular portfolio of crafts projects and join its growing rewards program, encouraging customers to visit their local A.C. Moore store for supplies.  Furthermore, using the geo-fencing and powerful segmentation features available in the Alert platform, A.C. Moore can deliver highly personalized, location-triggered offers to its app users, driving more in-store visits.

A.C. Moore chose Alert because of its extraordinary range of customer engagement features and its outstanding speed of deployment.  Along with weekly ads, project portfolios and exclusive offers, the A.C. Moore app gives customers instant access to their A.C. Moore loyalty card, a digital wallet of rewards and purchase receipts, and social media feeds from Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.  Since Alert is a cloud-based service, A.C. Moore was able to bring its feature rich app to market quickly, without the expense and effort of developing and maintaining its own software and infrastructure.

"From kids crafts to art supplies to jewelry making to floral, seasonal and home décor, A.C. Moore wants to inspire our customers to work on projects they love with a beautiful mobile app that is helpful, informative and fun, and adds true value to the shopping experience," said Mike Lyons, VP of Marketing at A.C. Moore.  "This app will thrill our customers by delivering great project ideas, special offers, and conveniences right to their fingertips and it will encourage them to come visit our stores to bring their creative ideas to life."

"Using the Alert platform, we were able to bring our highly-functional mobile app to market quickly and with great confidence, knowing that MicroStrategy has invested tremendous energy to perfect the underlying infrastructure," said Kathy Bailey, A.C. Moore EVP of Information Technology.

"We are pleased that A.C. Moore has selected the Alert mobile loyalty and customer engagement platform to launch its new customer app," said Jonathan F. Klein, President, MicroStrategy Incorporated.  "Innovative retailers like A.C. Moore realize that, in today's mobile world, they must not only maintain a presence on their customers' mobile devices, but they must also provide rich, interesting, and engaging content to keep them coming back.  Using the Alert platform, a retailer can develop a fully-branded mobile app, packed with state-of-the-art features, in just a matter of weeks.  Moreover, since Alert is a cloud-based service, retailers can deploy their branded apps without the expense, delay, and risk of developing it themselves from scratch."

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...

The next XaaS is CICDaaS. Why? Because CICD saves developers a huge amount of time. CD is an especially great option for projects that require multiple and frequent contributions to be integrated. The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...
Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.

To get the most out of their data, successful companies are not focusing on queries and data lakes, they are actively integrating analytics into their operations with a data-first application development approach. Real-time adjustments to improve revenues, reduce costs, or mitigate risk rely on applications that minimize latency on a variety of data sources. In his session at @BigDataExpo, Jack Norris, Senior Vice President, Data and Applications at MapR Technologies, reviewed best practices to ...

Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time. Enterprises are adopting Kubernetes to accelerate the development and the delivery of cloud-native applications. However, sharing a Kubernetes cluster between members of the same team can be challenging. And, sharing clusters across multiple teams is even harder. Kubernetes offers several constructs to help implement segmentation and isolation. However, these primitives can be complex to understand and apply. As a result, it’s becoming common for enterprises to end up with several clusters. Thi...
