Technology changes from one day to the next. Because of this, businesses have a difficult time keeping up with the latest devices. A great way to overcome this issue is to implement a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy. Let's dive in and take a close look at the top seven workers who benefit the most from BOYD.

CEOs:

CEOs are often known for demanding the latest technological devices. Since many companies can't keep up with their demands, by allowing them to bring their own devices to work, the CEOs get to enjoy the benefit of using devices that they prefer working with. Whether it be an Android tablet or the newest iPad, CEOs seem to be much more productive when they get their way.

Millennials:

Young workers, also commonly referred to as the Millennials, want to work with devices that they are familiar with using, which tends to be today's hottest gadgets. To accommodate their requests, a BYOD policy should be implemented.

Salespeople:

Salespeople are bombarded with tasks. They have to keep up today's sales trends as well as lots of data relating to their current and potential clients. They need devices that allow them to store an abundance of information, share presentations and do lots of research. Gone are the days of carrying around a pile of notebooks. Salespeople want devices, so a BYOD policy allows them to use devices they are comfortable using.

Techies:

Forget simplicity. Techies want a device that allows them to go beyond the normal day-to-day tasks commonly carried out by most device users. Because of this preference, the devices they prefer to use can be quite expensive. Since most companies can't afford expensive devices, a BYOD helps them overcome this problem.

Hourly Workers:

Even the lowest level of workers want to use technology to their advantage. On the downside, many corporations don't issue corporate devices to their hourly workers. With a BYOD policy, though, hourly workers can bring their own devices to work, enabling them to benefit from the advantages technology has to offer. Whether it be sending work-related emails or researching a new company product, technology can be used in a wide variety of ways.

A BYOD policy has many benefits. It is also accompanied with several risks. To overcome such risks, it is of the utmost importance to make sure all devices used by employees for work-related purposes are password protected and have anti-malware installed. If company-related data was to fall into the wrong hands, it could lead to the ruin of a business.  Using a big data platform to assess risks and monitor for security breaches is one option for increasing BYOD Security.
