Milton Security Provides Stopgap For Windows XP Endpoints

FULLERTON, Calif., April 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Milton Security Group announces a special solution for those customers who have not migrated away from Windows XP.  With the Microsoft Windows XP end of life just hours away from now, organizations need to prepare and mitigate.  For those organizations, moving away from Windows XP can be a long process, but with the Edge7200i security appliance, they can mitigate their risks, and plan for the future.

Microsoft will end support for Windows XP on April 8th.  For organizations still running systems on XP, this means that their machines, and therefore their networks, will be increasingly vulnerable to all manner of cyber attacks.  This spells disaster for many organizations that simply cannot afford to replace every XP device on their network.  From large public utilities and government agencies, to small businesses, the risk from Windows XP is still pervasive, and will be a large issue if not contained.

Starting from $1999.00 the Windows XP Special Mitigation package can reduce the overall risk brought about by continuing to run Windows XP in critical organizations.

James McMurry stated, "There is likely to be a number of 0-day security flaws released soon after April 8th.  These flaws will never be patched and business owners will need a way to reduce their exposure from this potential oncoming storm."  Milton Security offers an appliance that will mitigate the oncoming storm.

Milton Security's Edge7200i provides identity-based access to your network.  The Edge can report on what systems are still running XP as well as control the types of traffic coming to and from those XP machine.  This gives the Edge the ability to stop possible threats from ever even touching that XP machine.

Milton Security encourages companies who have not already replaced Windows XP to begin working on upgrading their systems as soon as possible.  These systems will continue to be a growing security risk as the outdated operating system will not gain any more patches as the rest of the world moves on.  However, using an Edge7200i will buy more time with a mitigated and smaller security hole footprint.

Call Milton Security Group to mitigate the risk from Windows XP, and many other threats, including 0-days.

DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. A Nutanix Enterprise Cloud has many benefits that provide the needed base for a true DevOps paradigm.

With billions of sensors deployed worldwide, the amount of machine-generated data will soon exceed what our networks can handle. But consumers and businesses will expect seamless experiences and real-time responsiveness. What does this mean for IoT devices and the infrastructure that supports them? More of the data will need to be handled at - or closer to - the devices themselves.
All organizations that did not originate this moment have a pre-existing culture as well as legacy technology and processes that can be more or less amenable to DevOps implementation. That organizational culture is influenced by the personalities and management styles of Executive Management, the wider culture in which the organization is situated, and the personalities of key team members at all levels of the organization.
