PeraHealth is pleased to announce that Signature Healthcare will deploy PeraTrend™ for real-time clinical decision support as part of a broad strategy to improve care, outcomes and cost for the system and the surrounding community. Serving the Southeastern Massachusetts community, Signature Healthcare is a multi-specialty hospital and physician group comprised of Brockton Hospital and Signature Medical Group.
PeraTrend calculates the Rothman Index, the next generation patient acuity measure that automatically extracts a range of key EHR data to generate a single, actionable score that gives clinicians real-time insight into a patient’s condition. A key factor for Signature Healthcare in choosing PeraTrend is the ability of the Rothman Index to measure patient condition across all disease states and patient populations. “We saw a means to leverage existing patient data to provide our clinicians with enhanced information to drive better care for our community,” said Kim Hollon, Signature Healthcare’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We firmly believe that PeraTrend will allow us to meet our operational and financial goals while continuing to strive for the best clinical outcomes possible and high satisfaction in terms of patient experience.”
“We are thrilled that Signature Healthcare will be joining some of the nation’s top hospitals and healthcare providers that are committed to providing quality patient care,” said Stephanie Alexander, Chief Executive Officer of Charlotte-based PeraHealth, Inc. “By integrating the Rothman Index into the Meditech MAGIC platform, Signature will bring real time clinical decision support across the system, improving clinicians’ ability to provide quality care while making more efficient use of system resources.”

Serving as the scientific engine of PeraTrend, the Index is protected by five patents and is squarely rooted in clinical and scientific rigor, with eleven peer-reviewed published journal articles validating its core methodology. The firm’s vision: constantly strive to increase patient safety, transform the EHR into a true clinical decision support tool, support the continuum of care in a seamless fashion – all while continuing to expand the firm’s scientific and clinical impact.
According to Forrester Research, every business will become either a digital predator or digital prey by 2020. To avoid demise, organizations must rapidly create new sources of value in their end-to-end customer experiences. True digital predators also must break down information and process silos and extend digital transformation initiatives to empower employees with the digital resources needed to win, serve, and retain customers.
