CHICAGO, April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviv REIT, Inc. (NYSE: AVIV) ("Aviv" or the "Company") announced today that it has commenced an underwritten public offering of 8,000,000 shares of its common stock. In connection with the offering, Aviv intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 1,200,000 shares of common stock.
The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to repay certain indebtedness and for general corporate purposes, including the potential acquisition of additional properties in the ordinary course of business.
Morgan Stanley, BofA Merrill Lynch, Goldman, Sachs & Co., Citigroup, RBC Capital Markets and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey are acting as joint book-running managers of the offering, and Credit Agricole CIB and RBS will act as co-managers.
The offering is being conducted pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
