Aqua-Bound(R) Introduces Three New Stand-Up Paddles

New Paddles Launched Due to Increasing Popularity of Aquatic Sport

OSCEOLA, WI -- (Marketwired) -- 04/14/14 -- Three new Aqua-Bound Stand-Up Paddles were introduced by Branches, LLC today to meet the demand for this increasingly popular sport. The new stand-up paddles include "The Spark," for beginners, "The Freedom," for intermediate paddleboarders, and "The Challenge," for more seasoned paddlers.

According to Aqua-Bound President Ed Vater, the company conducted extensive market research, and learned that stand-up paddleboarders are looking for paddles at mid-range prices with key features. "They want paddles that are durable, lightweight and, in their words, 'Look really cool,'" he said.

Stand-up paddleboarding (Hoe he'e nalu in the Hawaiian language) has an undeniable Polynesian ancestry, and is an offshoot of the 1960s surfing culture of Hawaii. In 2004, a Vietnam veteran brought the sport of stand-up paddling to California. The sport then migrated up the west coast and along the southeastern US coast. "Now, paddleboarding is moving inland to lakes and rivers -- really wherever there's a body of water," Vater said. "And its popularity is growing every day."

Unlike other paddles at the same price, each new Aqua-Bound paddle is differentiated by a very stiff blade to grab more water and deliver more power with every stroke. "They're lighter weight than competitively-priced paddles, too, making the paddlers' time on the water less fatiguing with less muscle strain, and more fun," he said.

The new Aqua-Bound stand-up paddles all have colorful Polynesian graphics that really stand out on the water, and other distinctive features including:

  • For beginning paddleboarders
  • Aluminum shaft, comfortable palm grip, and a fiberglass-reinforced proprietary resin blade: total weight of just 31.5 oz.

The Freedom

  • Surprisingly light at just 29 ounces
  • Ocean blue blade and contour palm grip
  • Available in two adjustable lengths: 70" - 80" and 76" - 86"

The Challenge

  • For more serious paddleboarders who'll be on the water for extended periods
  • Super lightweight all-carbon shaft, contoured palm grip and carbon-reinforced proprietary resin blade
  • Adjustable length all-black paddle weighs just 27 oz., and fixed length comes in at only 24 oz.

Up until last year, enterprises that were looking into cloud services usually undertook a long-term pilot with one of the large cloud providers, running test and dev workloads in the cloud. With cloud’s transition to mainstream adoption in 2015, and with enterprises migrating more and more workloads into the cloud and in between public and private environments, the single-provider approach must be revisited. A critical component of any IoT project is what to do with all the data being generated. This data needs to be captured, processed, structured, and stored in a way to facilitate different kinds of queries. Traditional data warehouse and analytical systems are mature technologies that can be used to handle certain kinds of queries, but they are not always well suited to many problems, particularly when there is a need for real-time insights.
