Airrosti Named Head of Athlete Services for 2014 CrossFit Games

Competitors Benefit From Airrosti Expertise at Five Regional Competitions

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 04/15/14 -- Once again, Airrosti Rehab Centers -- a leading health care group based in San Antonio -- has been selected to lead Athlete Services at the CrossFit Games. As head of Athlete Services, Airrosti will help athletes maintain peak physical fitness and restore function and range of motion to areas of the body where athletes are experiencing difficulties. Airrosti will expand its partnership with CrossFit by leading Athlete Services at five regional competitions (South Central, Central East, North Central, Northwest, and Mid-Atlantic) this year as well as the 2014 Reebok CrossFit Games in Carson, California this summer.

The CrossFit Open began February 27th and continued for five weeks. The Open portion of the competition challenged athletes with 5 workouts released weekly. The results of these workouts will determine the individuals and teams moving on to the regional competitions. Athletes around the globe tested their fitness each week by completing the Open workout and submitting their scores on the Games website.

Over 209,000 competitors participated in the CrossFit Games Open and performed the five workouts in hopes of finishing as the top 1% who advance to one of the 17 Regional events worldwide. Each regional competition will last three days, hosting individuals and teams that will compete for a designated number of spots allotted for advancement to the CrossFit Games. Airrosti will head Athlete Services at five of these Regional competitions, and will be responsible for all athlete recovery and treatment. Airrosti providers will be onsite providing the necessary treatment to keep these athletes performing at their best. Competitors are constantly striving to outdo themselves and their opponents as they move through workouts that test their full body, functional fitness. Maintaining optimal physical fitness, mobility, and health are critical to a competitor's ability to advance from The Open to Regionals and, ultimately, competing for the title of Fittest on Earth™ at the CrossFit Games.

Based on Airrosti's results with CrossFit athletes in previous years, the organization will treat competitors at the same three regional competitions as last year as well as two more this year. Airrosti providers are particularly excited to treat athletes at the South Central Regionals in their hometown -- San Antonio. Following Regionals, the Airrosti team will head to Carson for The 2014 Reebok CrossFit Games.

"Airrosti is thrilled to provide support to the CrossFit Game's world-class athletes -- showcasing our ability to quickly and efficiently resolve soft-tissue injuries and get athletes back in the box," said Airrosti CEO Kelly Green. "It's been a pleasure to work with athletes competing on a global scale, and even more exciting to continue to become more involved with the expanding games each year."

CrossFit, Inc. is equally enthusiastic about the expanding relationship with Airrosti.

"CrossFit athletes compete with rigorous intensity during each workout, and we take their recovery very seriously," CrossFit Games General Manager Justin Bergh said. "Each year Airrosti continues to raise the bar. As our relationship grows, we are confident they will continue to exceed expectations, providing high quality athlete services and helping our competitors maintain optimal performance this season."

More and more companies are looking to microservices as an architectural pattern for breaking apart applications into more manageable pieces so that agile teams can deliver new features quicker and more effectively. Internet-of-Things discussions can end up either going down the consumer gadget rabbit hole or focused on the sort of data logging that industrial manufacturers have been doing forever. When it comes to cloud computing, the ability to turn massive amounts of compute cores on and off on demand sounds attractive to IT staff, who need to manage peaks and valleys in user activity. Fortunately, in response a new breed of technology has emerged that is cheaper, faster and more scalable. Yet, in meeting these new needs they...
"Once customers get a year into their IoT deployments, they start to realize that they may have been shortsighted in the ways they built out their deployment and the key thing I see a lot of people looking at is - how can I take equipment data, pull it back in an IoT solution and show it in a dashboard," stated Dave McCarthy, Director of Products at Bsquare Corporation, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at @ThingsExpo, held November 1-3, 2016, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
The cloud promises new levels of agility and cost-savings for Big Data, data warehousing and analytics. In her session at @BigDataExpo at @ThingsExpo, Hannah Smalltree, a director at Cazena, provided an educational overview of emerging “as-a-service” options for Big Data in the cloud.
