LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - April 15, 2014) - Once again, The Grilled Cheese Truck is the "People's Choice!"
In celebration of April as National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Month and April 12 as National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day, The Grilled Cheese Truck "melted" both the hearts and taste buds of attendees at the LA Grilled Cheese Invitational to capture the "People's Choice" Award. It was the fifth consecutive year that The Grilled Cheese Truck received the honor -- having been named the People's Choice in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
In the process, The Grilled Cheese Truck also earns the right to boast about the People's Choice Award for years to come. Billed as "the largest, craziest, and most exciting Grilled Cheese cooking contest in the country," the 2014 LA Grilled Cheese Invitational was also the last LA Grilled Cheese Invitational.
The cheese continues this weekend at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival being held in Indio, Calif. The Grilled Cheese Truck was invited to serve up its array of delicious melts throughout the festival, which began April 11-13 and concludes April 18-20. Check out the lines at The Grilled Cheese Truck and you'll understand why Coachella's music may have met its match in The Cheesy Mac & Rib and other signature GCT melts.
Then, the Grilled Cheese Truck returns to Indio the following weekend, April 25-27, bringing its innovative melts to Stagecoach, California's Country Music Festival. From rock to country…and everything in between…The Grilled Cheese Truck's eclectic menu appeals to everyone with a craving for gourmet comfort food.
"Thanks to all our fans for again making us the People's Choice winner. No food industry award is more important than the vote of the people you serve," said The Grilled Cheese Truck's founder and creative culinary officer and director David Danhi, aka 'The Big Cheese.' "We look forward to meeting and greeting grilled cheese fans the next two weekends at Coachella and Stagecoach…and every week throughout the year."
Danhi has worked in the restaurant and food industry for more than 30 years. His melts have been recognized as some of the best grilled cheese creations in the country. After participating in 2009's 7th annual Los Angeles Grilled Cheese Invitational as a "fun" adventure, Danhi recognized the demand for unique grilled cheese sandwiches.
The Grilled Cheese Truck currently operates 13 food trucks in Southern California and Arizona, serving creative sandwiches that are widely popular and have evolved into America's "comfort food of choice." The spring menu includes such longtime favorites as The Cheesy Mac & Rib, Plain and Simple Melt, Three Cheese Melt and Cheesy Mac Melt, along with a Sweet Sriracha Chicken Melt, Goat Cheese Melt, Pretzel Melt, Roast Brie Melt, S'Mores Melt, and Cheesycake Melt.
The menu also features a variety of crusts, savory and sweet additions, and such sides as cups or shots of tomato soup, cup of mac & cheese, tater tots, homemade Bread and Butter pickle chips (yes, pun intended), and daily dipping sauces.
Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., The Grilled Cheese Truck, Inc. is an entrepreneurial "emerging growth" company with a brand and menu that are popular nationwide. A fast-growing, early-mover in the gourmet food truck industry, its mission to target military veterans attracted former supreme commander of NATO Gen. (ret.) Wesley Clark, who serves as a Company director and is actively involved in supervising the outreach to and training of veteran franchisees to ensure there's a solid support system for job growth.
Believed to be the first publicly held, fully reporting, gourmet food truck in America and possibly the first grilled cheese food truck franchise opportunity, The Grilled Cheese Truck is among the early first growth companies actively seeking accredited investors under the new JOBS Act and qualifies as an Emerging Growth Company as defined by the JOBS Act and the Securities and Exchange Commission. A strange thing is happening along the way to the Internet of Things, namely far too many devices to work with and manage. It has become clear that we'll need much higher efficiency user experiences that can allow us to more easily and scalably work with the thousands of devices that will soon be in each of our lives. Enter the conversational interface revolution, combining bots we can literally talk with, gesture to, and even direct with our thoughts, with embedded artificial intelligence, wh...

Information technology is an industry that has always experienced change, and the dramatic change sweeping across the industry today could not be truthfully described as the first time we've seen such widespread change impacting customer investments. However, the rate of the change, and the potential outcomes from today's digital transformation has the distinct potential to separate the industry into two camps: Organizations that see the change coming, embrace it, and successful leverage it; and...

Digital transformation is too big and important for our future success to not understand the rules that apply to it. The first three rules for winning in this age of hyper-digital transformation are: Advantages in speed, analytics and operational tempos must be captured by implementing an optimized information logistics system (OILS) Real-time operational tempos (IT, people and business processes) must be achieved Businesses that can "analyze data and act and with speed" will dominate those t...

The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, will compare the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, e...

There are several IoTs: the Industrial Internet, Consumer Wearables, Wearables and Healthcare, Supply Chains, and the movement toward Smart Grids, Cities, Regions, and Nations. More and more companies are looking to microservices as an architectural pattern for breaking apart applications into more manageable pieces so that agile teams can deliver new features quicker and more effectively. What this pattern has done more than anything to date is spark organizational transformations, setting the foundation for future application development. In practice, however, there are a number of considerations to make that go beyond simply “build, ship, and run,” which changes ho...
