NeoNova unveils YourStream TV for local channels on Roku

New broadband video solution gives subscribers the local television options they want at affordable prices

KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NeoNova, an industry leader in cloud-based services for regional telcos, today announced that the company's latest live broadcast streaming solution for Roku gives affiliate customers a new way for their subscribers to watch local television.

YourStream TV from NeoNova allows service providers to deliver cost-effective local television to broadband customers through a customizable Roku channel with a fully brandable interface and tailored channel lineups. This new service offers end-users a lower-cost alternative to cable and satellite subscriptions or inconsistent over-the-air signals, and it comes with authentication functionality so local channels remain in compliance with retransmission agreements.

Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom (WCVT), an independent telecommunications company serving the Mad River and Central Champlain Valley regions of Vermont, successfully integrated YourStream TV into its service options through a white-label version called GMA Video. This solution now gives WCVT a real competitive advantage in the market because customers no longer have to look for multiple providers for telephone, Internet, and TV.

"Customers have said for years that local TV channels are a priority," said Kurt Gruendling, vice president of marketing and business development, WCVT. "Local channels often take precedent over premium or subscription channels, but people don't want to pay exorbitant amounts of money and only receive a handful of channels."

YourStream TV has a simple, inexpensive setup that comes with all the extra benefits of Roku, including access to Netflix®, Hulu Plus™, Amazon® Instant Video, HBO GO®, and more than 1,000 other channels. It also comes with a trick play feature so users can pause, rewind, and fast-forward any live channel they are currently watching.

"Our goal is to provide our affiliates the tools they require to be successful, even if that means developing new services to fit a specific need," said Ray Carey, CEO of NeoNova." YourStream TV allows rural telco customers to offer live broadcast video services by leveraging a cost-effective, hosted model using affordable consumer hardware. The television and video marketplace is changing rapidly and we are happy to be working with WVCT to introduce changes right along with it. This new service enables an affordable triple play that is a real game changer."

NeoNova will highlight this latest streaming video innovation and other products and services this week at the IP Possibilities Conference & Expo in Kansas City, Mo. NeoNova is in booth number 207/209. NeoNova CEO Ray Carey will deliver the conference's Thursday keynote address on hosted services at 8:15 a.m., and Chris Beatson, vice president of project management and software engineering, will speak about emerging technologies, customized content, and consumer control on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...
The Internet of Things will challenge the status quo of how IT and development organizations operate. Or will it? The next XaaS is CICDaaS. Why? Because CICD saves developers a huge amount of time. CD is an especially great option for projects that require multiple and frequent contributions to be integrated. The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...
Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.

To get the most out of their data, successful companies are not focusing on queries and data lakes, they are actively integrating analytics into their operations with a data-first application development approach. Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time. Enterprises are adopting Kubernetes to accelerate the development and the delivery of cloud-native applications. However, sharing a Kubernetes cluster between members of the same team can be challenging. And, sharing clusters across multiple teams is even harder.
