AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS -- (Marketwired) -- 04/16/14 -- Red Herring today announced that app-development platform AppGyver (www.appgyver.com) was a winner of the Red Herring 100 Award, a selection of the 100 most innovative private technology companies based in Europe. The Red Herring editorial board diligently surveyed the entrepreneurial scene throughout Europe and identified the top 100 out of more than 1,400 closely evaluated companies that are leading the next wave of innovation.
The 100 winning companies were announced at the Red Herring Europe event in Amsterdam. The CEOs of the winning startups presented their innovative ideas and technologies to an audience of leading entrepreneurs, financiers and corporate strategists at the event at the Amsterdam Hotel earlier this week.
Since AppGyver launched its app-development platform, Steroids, last August, more than 10,000 apps have been built on it. Steroids users are startups, freelancers and a growing number of Fortune 500 companies -- including Accenture, AT&T, BBC, Cisco Systems, Groupon, SAP, IBM, Salesforce, Dell, Deloitte and more -- indicating a trend toward the use of AppGyver to develop more data-driven apps.
AppGyver's mission is to provide complete toolsets for novice and seasoned mobile developers alike to quickly build, test, preview and deploy fully functioning HTML5 mobile apps which are indistinguishable from native counterparts. The company's recently released Steroids SDK closes the performance gap between native apps and HTML5 hybrids by utilizing native UI components, navigation and animations, together with the HTML5-wrapped application. Prototyper, the first product launched by AppGyver, allows those with limited technical knowledge to build full app prototypes which can be tested and demoed without the need for provisioning, third-party installations or the official app store environment.
