Fast Cheap and out of Control - State of the Webseries World
Spencer Estabrooks will take us through the journey to create and maintain a Webseries and its online presence. The presentation is broken into four parts.
1) The Rise of the Webseries
What is a Webseries? Close look at how the Web is pulling viewers from traditional distribution, also the genesis One Hit Die.
2) YouTube Hits
Understanding YouTube views and revenue. Working with YouTube Partners and alternatives to YouTube.
3) Developing your Audience
Reddit, Blogs, Story's and games. Ideas on how to connect with your viewers.
4) Creating a Webseries in Canada
Tips tricks and funding options for creating a viable webseries in Canada.Post discussion, Spencer will answer audience questions in an interactive Q&A.

About the Event
When: Friday, April 25, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. (i)presentation will begin at 9:05 am

Cost: There is no fee to attend a Social Media Breakfast.
Parking: Street parking is limited, but free until 9am. To give you the opportunity to pay for parking, presentation will begin at 9:05 am.

- Going EAST - get off at either 3rd Street S.W. Station OR at Centre Street STATION

Spencer Estabrooks is the Senior Supervising Editor at Acmeworks Digital Film. By day, he manages the 4k restoration of the 80's sitcom Perfect Strangers and by night, he pursues his passion for genre based filmmaking. He has written, directed and edited numerous award winning short films. His most recent passion project, entitled One Hit Die, is a fantasy web-series described as "Lord of the Rings shot like The Office". He is currently touring the web-series festival circuit and has already received Best Web Series and Best Fantasy in ATL Webfest.
One Hit Die will have a screening and Q+A at the Calgary Expo, Quarter Horse room on Saturday, 11:30AM.
