Pelican Products, Inc. Introduces New Lineup of Rugged Phone Cases

Pelican Products, Inc., the global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance protective cases, today announced the launch of a new line of rugged phone cases for both the Apple iPhone® 5/5s and Samsung Galaxy S®5 smart phones, These cases will be made available exclusively at AT&T retail stores and at att.com/pelican.

Backed by Pelican Products’ Legendary Lifetime Guarantee of Excellence, the initial product lineup will include a Pelican ProGear™ Voyager™ Case for the Samsung Galaxy S 5 and Apple iPhone 5/5s, as well as a Pelican ProGear™ Protector™ Case for the Samsung Galaxy S 5.

“Pelican’s products have been a trusted brand for over 35 years with first responders, military personnel, photographers and outdoor enthusiasts,” said Lyndon Faulkner, President and CEO of Pelican Products, Inc. “This dynamic new line up is a significant extension to those existing channels, allowing consumers to enjoy the same extreme protection in a new design for their smartphones.”

Pelican ProGear Voyager Case
Matching the sleek precision of the Samsung Galaxy S 5 and iPhone 5s, the Pelican ProGear Voyager Case is slim and lightweight without sacrificing protection. Featuring multiple layers of rigid polycarbonate and energy-absorbing TPR, the Pelican ProGear Voyager Case provides 360 degree protection. Engineered to military (MIL-SPEC) standards, the case will also protect the device against drops and sharp-edged attacks to the screen. The Pelican ProGear Voyager Case includes a detachable, spring-loaded belt clip holster for easy access and is available in a variety of color combinations at an MSRP of $50.00. These cases are available for sale now at AT&T stores and at www.att.com/pelican.

Pelican ProGear Protector Case
To guard smartphones from daily drops and typical wear and tear, Pelican Products’ engineers have created two levels of protection in the Pelican ProGear Protector Case for the Samsung S 5. Its first line of defense is a tough, shock-deflecting outer shell that saves the device’s glass face from direct impact on flat surfaces. The second level is a soft, elastomeric interior lining to protect the device from scratches and impact. Additionally, the outer shell has a smooth finish to allow the case to slide easily into pockets and bags. The Pelican ProGear Protector Case is available in Black/Charcoal at an MSRP of $40. These cases are available for sale now at AT&T stores and at www.att.com/pelican.

“According to The NPD Group, protection and durability/quality are the most important features to customers when looking to purchase phone cases,” explained David Becker, Pelican Products’ Vice President of Sales, Consumer Electronics. “With the increasing importance of smartphones in our culture, protecting them in the most fashionable, yet toughest covers is a must.”

When building large, cloud-based applications that operate at a high scale, it's important to maintain a high availability and resilience to failures. In order to do that, you must be tolerant of failures, even in light of failures in other areas of your application. "Fly two mistakes high" is an old adage in the radio control airplane hobby. It means, fly high enough so that if you make a mistake, you can continue flying with room to still make mistakes. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Le...
Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
DevOps tends to focus on the relationship between Dev and Ops, putting an emphasis on the ops and application infrastructure. But that’s changing with microservices architectures. In her session at DevOps Summit, Lori MacVittie, Evangelist for F5 Networks, will focus on how microservices are changing the underlying architectures needed to scale, secure and deliver applications based on highly distributed (micro) services and why that means an expansion into “the network” for DevOps.

Containers and Kubernetes allow for code portability across on-premise VMs, bare metal, or multiple cloud provider environments. Yet, despite this portability promise, developers may include configuration and application definitions that constrain or even eliminate application portability. In this session we'll describe best practices for "configuration as code" in a Kubernetes environment. We will demonstrate how a properly constructed containerized app can be deployed to both Amazon and Azure ...
Poor data quality and analytics drive down business value. In fact, Gartner estimated that the average financial impact of poor data quality on organizations is $9.7 million per year. But bad data is much more than a cost center. By eroding trust in information, analytics and the business decisions based on these, it is a serious impediment to digital transformation.
