Lucid 3 by LG Delivers Knock Code™ For Greater Security and Android™ 4.4 KitKat for Best User Experience

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., April 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics today announced the new Lucid 3 by LG smartphone will be available online and in Verizon Wireless stores starting today for free after a $50 mail-in rebate debit card and new, two-year activation. For a limited time, Verizon Edge customers who trade in their basic phone to purchase a Lucid 3 can get an additional $50 bonus added to the phone's trade-in value.

LG Lucid 3 with Knock Code and Android KitKat Available on Verizon

The Lucid 3 is one of the first smartphones in the United States to offer LG's Knock Code, a new and more private way for users to wake and unlock their LG smartphones by using a personalized pattern of knocks or taps anywhere within four quadrants of the display. The LG Knock Code feature isn't as susceptible to biometric signatures like fingerprint scanners, and with more than 80,000 possible pattern combinations Lucid 3 users can feel confident about restricting phone access.

"The Lucid 3 is a great smartphone for Verizon Wireless users who appreciate simplicity but want to transition to a smartphone that blends high-end performance with affordability," said Morris Lee, senior vice president and head of sales and marketing, LG MobileComm USA. "What's more, Lucid 3 users can have peace-of-mind knowing their personal data is more secure with Knock Code."

The Lucid 3 by LG comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and a variety of smart, new software features meant to enhance and enrich the user experience, including:

  • EasyHome: Users can access their favorite features, such as camera, contacts, dial pad, voicemail, weather and more by simply pushing the button located below the screen.
  • Smart LED: Receive and be alerted to important notifications with color-coded LED alerts.
  • Knock Code: More than 80,000 possible combinations for increased security and convenience

The compact, sleek design of the Lucid 3 by LG is specially crafted for mobile comfort, making it easy to operate with one hand. With KnockON, users can wake Lucid 3 by LG using just a fingertip, tapping twice on the display to turn it on or off.

The ultra slim bezel allows for more real estate on the vivid 4.7-inch qHD IPS display, accurately showing off true-to-life colors and hues bringing photos and videos to life. The expansive screen also provides users with enough space to manage emails and a task list at the same time.  And for those who appreciate multitasking, LG's QSlide Function allows up to two windows – with adjustable sizing and transparency – to be overlaid on the primary screen so doing three things at once becomes a cinch.

The Lucid 3 is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ quad-core processor and a 2,440 mAh battery that ensures long-lasting performance so users can keep up with their personal and business demands throughout the day.
