Inflection Strategic Opportunities Fund Now Available for Purchase Through MD Physician Services

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/23/14 -- Inflection Management Inc. today announced that the Inflection Strategic Opportunities Fund ("Inflection" or the "Fund") has been approved for purchase on the MD Fund platform managed by MD Physician Services Inc. (MD), a Canadian Medical Association (CMA)-owned wealth management organization with more than $35 billion in assets under administration. MD provides Canada's physicians and their families with personalized, expert advice and best-in-class solutions to meet their total wealth management needs. As a result of MD's decision to include Inflection on its list of available funds, CMA members will now be able to invest directly through MD in the Inflection Strategic Opportunities Fund upon request.

Inflection invests actively in a portfolio of global hedge funds on the basis of current opportunity, manager tenure and the ability to manage downside risk. Recent opportunities include post-bankruptcy distressed asset sales, sovereign debt crises, European economic dispersion and the ongoing merger arbitrage boom. Inflection generally seeks to produce returns that are unrelated to traditional Canadian equity and bond investments. Net blended total return since inception in October 2010 is 32.43%. Inflection was the worldwide top-performing fund of hedge funds within the HFN Multi-strategy Leveraged USD category in 2012.

"MD's decision gives physicians all across Canada direct access to an opportunistic portfolio of some of the world's leading hedge funds, and to global investment opportunities that are typically unavailable to individual Canadian investors," said Ari Shiff, Founder and Head of Fund Research. "The Canadian markets typically go up and down with the natural resource sector, which is strongly influenced by world demand and therefore largely beyond our control. Inflection's unique portfolio provides investors the potential to improve their domestic portfolios' overall returns by tapping into world economic currents beyond Canada's borders and diversifying their Canadian holdings with generally less correlated sources of return."

Inflection's portfolio includes hedge funds with a robust history of investment performance and whose teams have demonstrated an expertise in exploiting current opportunities within their strategy. Typically these types of hedge funds each have investment minimums of USD 1 million or more, but Inflection's structure allows qualified investors access to the entire portfolio for USD 100,000. Combining hedge funds also allows investors to diversify their exposure to strategies such as corporate mergers and acquisitions, post-bankruptcy and work-out scenarios, broadly diversified asset-backed securities, fundamental deep value dislocations and quantitative behavioral-based trading strategies, among others. Inflection continuously monitors and reviews its hedge fund holdings and opportunities as part of its efforts to produce optimal portfolio returns for investors.

In addition to all the benefits, IoT is also bringing new kind of customer experience challenges - cars that unlock themselves, thermostats turning houses into saunas and baby video monitors broadcasting over the internet.
