By consuming the content on his ShowMobile channel, Austin’s fans earn stars, which can be used to buy Austin and each other virtual goods and to qualify for and win fan experiences and prizes. For example, fans will have the opportunity to be a “U Girl” via ShowMobile at one of his concerts this summer. Additionally, a glimpse of the fifth and final episode of Austin’s “#TourLife” series will be made available first to users of the app.
“ShowMobile makes a lot of sense to me. Having everything in one place so my Mahomies don't have to go from app to app is a no brainer,” said Austin.
CEO Eric Foster White, an award-winning songwriter and Grammy-nominated producer for The Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, created the transmedia mobile/social entertainment platform. The COPPA-compliant app allows fans to interact with programs and artists in ways never before possible, while powering made-for-mobile programming and providing brands with opportunities for advanced native in-app advertising.
"We're thrilled to have Austin on board,” said White. “We appreciate his recognition of the deep fan engagement that only ShowMobile can deliver.”
Austin's ShowMobile channel is the second on the app, which can be downloaded for free on Android and iOS devices. The app’s inaugural channel is an original made-for-mobile series called HitStreak, a family-friendly program that follows the lives of four aspiring teen singers in Miami working to make their dreams of becoming pop sensations a reality. Telling its story three or more times a day across popular social media aggregated on ShowMobile, HitStreak is the most successful transmedia show to date, with nearly 35 million video views, 2 million in-app episodic views and 2 million social engagements since launching in October 2013.

Fifty billion connected devices and still no winning protocols standards. HTTP, WebSockets, MQTT, and CoAP seem to be leading in the IoT protocol race at the moment but many more protocols are getting introduced on a regular basis. Each protocol has its pros and cons depending on the nature of the communications. Does there really need to be only one protocol to rule them all? Of course not. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Chris Matthieu, co-founder and CTO of Octoblu, walk you through how Oct...
