LVI Services Inc. (LVI) and NCM Group Holdings, LLC (NCM), the two leading providers of demolition and remediation services in the country, announced today they have agreed to merge, forming NorthStar Group Holdings, LLC (NorthStar). With combined annual gross revenues approaching $600 million and nearly 50 offices nationwide, NorthStar will be the foremost provider of environmental remediation, deconstruction and demolition, nuclear decommissioning, emergency response and asset recovery management.
LVI and NCM are both led by highly experienced management teams with a mutual vision for the future of the combined company. Leading the newly formed company will be CEO Scott E. State, P.E. currently President & CEO of LVI, and President Subhas “Sage” Khara, currently President & CEO of NCM. Khara and LVI COO John Leonard will manage the day-to-day operations of the NorthStar organization.
“Both LVI and NCM have earned the confidence of their clients by not only meeting objectives, but exceeding expectations with respect to their diverse and considerable specialty project experiences,” said LVI President & CEO, and NorthStar CEO Scott E. State. “By combining the two organizations, the customers of NorthStar will benefit from a unique blend of professional expertise, specialized resources and broad geographic readiness at a previously unequalled scale in the facility contracting sector.”
NorthStar’s exceptional safety record will remain primary to the company’s mission and the company’s comprehensive insurance program will also provide a large breadth of coverage for both owners and general contractors. LVI has a history of industry-leading expertise in its three primary service line offerings: environmental remediation, deconstruction and decommissioning and emergency response, and is particularly known for its rapid deployment capabilities. NCM has become a national one-stop provider of demolition, dismantling, asset and scrap recovery, remediation (asbestos, lead, mold and soil) and disaster response. The two companies have decades of experience with Fortune 500 companies and public sector clients at the local, state and federal levels.
“Our decision to merge the country’s two most accomplished deconstruction and environmental remediation companies is intended to leverage the best, complementary resources of both to meet the most demanding, complex projects for industrial, commercial and government clients,” according to Sage Khara, NorthStar President. “The synergies will allow us to serve our clients with a broader set of service offerings.”

There is an ever-growing explosion of new devices that are connected to the Internet using “cloud” solutions. This rapid growth is creating a massive new demand for efficient access to data. And it’s not just about connecting to that data anymore. This new demand is bringing new issues and challenges and it is important for companies to scale for the coming growth. And with that scaling comes the need for greater security, gathering and data analysis, storage, connectivity and, of course, the...

In the world of DevOps there are ‘known good practices’ – aka ‘patterns’ – and ‘known bad practices’ – aka ‘anti-patterns.' Many of these patterns and anti-patterns have been developed from real world experience, especially by the early adopters of DevOps theory; but many are more feasible in theory than in practice, especially for more recent entrants to the DevOps scene. In this power panel at @DevOpsSummit at 18th Cloud Expo, moderated by DevOps Conference Chair Andi Mann, panelists will dis...
