LOS ANGELES, April 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Rigler Creative, located in Pasadena, California, a full-service digital production company with a focus on branded content and high quality 360/cross-platform literary properties with authors and publishers, is releasing today the first in a series of audiobooks.
For the company's first audiobook release, Rigler Creative has teamed up with Janel Parrish, of ABC Family's hit series Pretty Little Liars on an all-new middle-grade and above audiobook "The Journeys of John and Julia: Genesis (Book 1)" by Aurelia.
The book has been praised by Tim Kring (Heroes, Touch) and Duncan Rouleau (Ben 10), and the audiobook version is available digitally everywhere starting today.
"Anyone who is a fan of HEROES will definitely enjoy Genesis", says master storyteller and HEROES creator Tim Kring.
"A great read. Imaginative. Insightful. Heroic. The type of summer vacation that every kid should have," commented Duncan Rouleau, creator of Ben 10.
As an innovative addition to bring JJJ's 360 experience closer to readers, Parrish introduces a new 13-part weekly tween centered, unscripted web series format called Best Friends Book Club. The series is designed to enhance the reading experience for young viewers while also serving as an educational tool for parents, teachers and librarians.
Best Friends Book Club features four smart young hosts who dig into the book and relate the story to their personal, real-life experiences. Each episode runs 3-5 minutes and will be broadcast weekly on YouTube starting next week.
The Journeys of John and Julia, the first in a series of 7 novels, has already been embraced by an extraordinary 300,000+ reads on the popular storytelling and fan-fiction platform Wattpad.com, where weekly chapters were released together with trailers, videos and other cross-platform content in order to connect with an early audience.
The Journeys of John and Julia: Genesis (Book 1) eBook and print editions are available on Amazon, Apple iBooks, Google Play and Barnes & Noble. There's also a German translation available on Amazon Europe.
"I really loved the story. I thought it was such a nice coming of age story about finding yourself and believing in yourself and sticking true to how you really feel," says Janel Parrish. "I definitely hope and think that PLL fans will really identify with the book."
"The launch of a new franchise like The Journeys of John and Julia with an audiobook narrated by the multi-talented Janel Parrish breaks new ground for everyone. It's Janel's first audiobook experience, and might be the first time an actor of her generation was asked to read a new publication for a younger audience in support of literacy." said Rigler Creative founder Thomas Rigler. "As an emerging publisher, we were also looking for a fresh and innovative way to help get the word out and The Best Friends Book Club is the perfect platform. The result is truly captivating while also educational. We feel it's a next-gen approach to launching books."
Rigler Creative also provides a wide variety of marketing services specifically designed to get books in front of readers and leverage the power of the Internet and social media platforms with highly targeted digital marketing techniques. Developing literary properties beyond the printed word towards web, interactive, television and motion pictures is part of their underlying services and strategy, with several more announcements just around the corner.

Early adopters of IoT viewed it mainly as a different term for machine-to-machine connectivity or M2M. This is understandable since a prerequisite for any IoT solution is the ability to collect and aggregate device data, which is most often presented in a dashboard. The problem is that viewing data in a dashboard requires a human to interpret the results and take manual action, which doesn’t scale to the needs of IoT.

When building large, cloud-based applications that operate at a high scale, it’s important to maintain a high availability and resilience to failures. In order to do that, you must be tolerant of failures, even in light of failures in other areas of your application. “Fly two mistakes high” is an old adage in the radio control airplane hobby. It means, fly high enough so that if you make a mistake, you can continue flying with room to still make mistakes. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee...
