CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/26/14 -- Department of Canadian Heritage
The Government of Canada has provided total funding of $323,100 to the Association canadienne-francaise de l'Alberta (ACFA) - regionale de Calgary through the Development of Official-Language Communities Program and the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program.
Joan Crockatt, Member of Parliament (Calgary Centre), announced this support today at the 12th edition of the Calgary Maple Festival des Sucres at Cliff-Bungalow Mission Community Park in Calgary. She made this announcement on behalf of Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Shelly Glover.
Funding of $305,000 provided through the Development of Official-Languages Communities Program will enable ACFA's Calgary branch to deliver its programming through 2014-2016. The Association will offer a range of cultural and social activities to support the development and vitality of the Francophone community in Calgary, including support for the Calgary Maple Festival des Sucres.
Additional funding of $18,100 provided through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program is allowing the Association to present the 12th edition of the Calgary Maple Festival des Sucres on April 26 and 27, 2014. Festival activities include live musical performances and an art exposition.
