Nexant announced today that Robin Energie, a Dutch energy retailer, selling gas and power to residential and small business customers in the Netherlands primarily through an important niche market of curators and budget keepers, has signed an agreement to license Nexant RevenueManager® software.
The Nexant end-to-end energy retail software platform will be used for customer care and billing, electronic market messaging, and client self-servicing for its residential and small and medium enterprise gas and power customers.
Nexant RevenueManager® is an integrated energy retail customer care and billing solution that has been extensively used in Europe for more than a decade. The Nexant platform is scheduled to go live for Robin Energie in Q2 2014.
“During the last couple of years, Robin Energie has grown from a start-up to a solid energy retail company that requires robust software to manage rapid growth and our unique business strategy,” said Ronald Ruskauff, Robin Energie’s owner and Managing Director. “Nexant RevenueManager® will allow Robin Energie to streamline, manage, and optimize our end-to-end energy retail processes. Nexant is a market leader and a clear choice, because of its inherent flexibility, fast go-to-market, low cost-to-serve—and, above all, its proven track record—in the local deregulated energy retail market compliant with StroomOpwaarts. Key to our strategy is to work with partners who are able to pass direct benefits to our customers.”
“We are pleased to continue to expand the Nexant customer footprint in the Netherlands, with a unique and customer- service-oriented energy supplier such as Robin Energie,” said Peter de Vroed, Nexant Regional Sales Manager - Europe. “As competition for residential customers continues to heat up in Europe due to ongoing regulatory changes, introduction of smart meters, and new market demands, retail energy suppliers will need more flexibility and greater control of mission-critical energy retail business processes. We are confident that Nexant provides the true business agility and lower operating costs necessary for energy retail companies to grow market share and meet strategic business goals.”

As software becomes more and more complex, we, as software developers, have been splitting up our code into smaller and smaller components. This is also true for the environment in which we run our code: going from bare metal, to VMs to the modern-day Cloud Native world of containers, schedulers and microservices. While we have figured out how to run containerized applications in the cloud using schedulers, we've yet to come up with a good solution to bridge the gap between getting your conta...
