(NYSE: WDAY), a leader in enterprise cloud applications for human resources and finance, announced today that The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) has selected Workday's Administrative Solution for Higher Education, which includes Workday Human Capital Management, Workday Financial Management, Workday Payroll, Workday Expenses, and Workday Grants Management. Delivered in the cloud as one unified application, Workday will modernize UT Austin's systems and provide the flexibility, data insight, and speed that administrators, faculty, staff, and students need to succeed today and in the future.
Founded in 1883, UT Austin is one of the largest universities in the nation, with approximately 14,000 faculty and staff, 11,000 student workers, and more than 50,000 students. For 25 years, UT Austin has used legacy mainframe systems to custom develop its administrative applications. Although the current systems have delivered operational functionality and integration over the years, they no longer provide the flexibility or capabilities required to meet the evolving expectations and needs of employees and students.

The Internet of Things (IoT), in all its myriad manifestations, has great potential. Much of that potential comes from the evolving data management and analytic (DMA) technologies and processes that allow us to gain insight from all of the IoT data that can be generated and gathered.
