NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - April 28, 2014) - Tangent Data Services, a real-time data analytics firm and recently recognized by the Aite Group as one of the Most Innovate Financial Technology Startups for 2014, announced the appointment of Dr. Prateek Aggarwal as its Chief Data Scientist.
Founder and CEO Daniel Goldberg said, "We are thrilled to add Dr. Aggarwal to our accomplished team. His vast experience, accomplishments and knowledge will bring significant value to our expanding suite of data analytics for investment professionals."
Dr. Aggarwal previously served in various senior data scientist consultant roles at companies including J.P. Morgan, Oracle and Adobe. He most recently designed algorithms for forecasting revenue of retailers based on transactions observed both online and at physical stores. In his 10+ years of professional data analysis, Dr. Aggarwal has focused on gaining insight into modelling consumer behavior, as well as the science behind forecasting, allocating, and decision-making.

Tangent also recently announced the hiring of Chris King as its Chief Information Officer and Matt Barker as its Head of Sales and Business Development.
Chris has a great track record in building engineering and data teams for prior startups. Before joining Tangent, Mr. King was VP of Engineering at Matterhorn Transactions Inc. (a platform for research into M&A agreements and other transactions). Prior to Matterhorn, Chris spent four years as a Software Engineer, then Director of Engineering, at BrightWire Inc. (a real-time news publisher serving institutional investors), and continues to serve on the BrightWire advisory board.
Matt Barker is an accomplished salesperson with a proven track record in all aspects of buy-side sales. Mr. Barker will lead Tangent's overall sales effort focusing on raising the awareness of the investment community to Tangent's value-added unique data as well as further developing client relations to drive revenue growth for the company's expanding proprietary analytics products.
