EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/28/14 -- Canadian Western Bank (CWB) (TSX: CWB) is pleased to announce the opening of its new flagship branch in Edmonton, Alberta. The new Edmonton Main branch, located at 12230 Jasper Avenue, offers a full complement of business and personal banking services, and is one of eight CWB branches in Edmonton and surrounding area. The new location replaces CWB's previous branch located at 11350 Jasper Avenue.
The new building offers a spacious environment that spans more than 28,000 square feet and will accommodate improved services and capacity for future growth. Employees from the previous branch have been transferred to the new location, and further transfers have been completed to bring together CWB's experienced team of real estate banking specialists for the capital region. In addition to the conveniences of ABM services and ample underground parking, this LEED® Canada Certification Candidate project features a number of sustainable elements that include low-emitting building materials, LED sensor lighting, furniture made with recycled materials and a living wall.
"This new facility will allow us to continue to help our clients grow and prosper in an inviting and convenient environment," says George Bawden, Vice President and Branch Manager, who leads the team at Edmonton Main. "We expect significant growth within this expanded footprint as we maintain our focus on providing unique expertise in the areas of mid-market commercial banking, construction and real estate financing, and equipment financing and leasing. We also look forward to introducing more clients to our enhanced cash management offerings, wealth management services and comprehensive suite of personal banking products."
"We're headquartered here in Edmonton, so it's fitting that our largest branch be situated in the city's core," added Michael Halliwell, Senior Vice President and Regional General Manager, Northern Alberta Region. "We're excited to contribute to the growth and development happening here, and look forward to continuing to provide our clients with the exceptional, personalized service and expertise that CWB is known for."
