The executive leadership of OBJ Enterprises (OTCBB: OBJE) met with developers and studios in Silicon Beach this month, seeking out new potential partnerships in what has become the heart of Los Angeles’ fast-growing tech industry.
Thanks in part to the proximity of Hollywood, the stretch of the city between Venice and Santa Monica is now home to about 800 startups that have, according to a report by Time magazine, attracted $1.3 billion in venture capital since 2011. Among them are social-media app companies such as Whisper and Snapchat; Google and Facebook maintain offices in the area, as well. A 2012 report from Compass ranked L.A. as the third-largest tech ecosystem in the world, behind only Silicon Valley and Tel Aviv.
OBJE’s leadership met and had discussions with game developers, mobile app studios and a major media conglomerate this month, seeking out new ideas, projects and partnerships to capitalize on Silicon Beach’s synergy with the massive U.S. entertainment industry.
As it works to build out its portfolio of gaming titles, OBJE continues to network and discuss possible partnering opportunities with up-and-coming game developers with an eye toward the future of mobile entertainment. Through its gaming division, Obscene Interactive, OBJE is working to deliver innovative and engaging gaming products for the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) App Store and Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) Play market alongside companies such as King Digital Entertainment plc (NYSE: KING) Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ: GLUU).

Data is an unusual currency; it is not restricted by the same transactional limitations as money or people. In fact, the more that you leverage your data across multiple business use cases, the more valuable it becomes to the organization. And the same can be said about the organization’s analytics. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Bill Schmarzo, CTO for the Big Data Practice at EMC, will introduce a methodology for capturing, enriching and sharing data (and analytics) across the organizati...
