Spin Systems, Inc. Announces the Release of Personal Health Record (PHR) Data-as-a-Service Platform

Spin Systems, Inc., a leading small business provider of enterprise-ready solutions to Fortune 500 companies and federal government agencies, is pleased to announce the release of its PHR (Personal Health Record) Data-as-a-Service platform. The following DoD success story highlights how Spin System’s data-sharing service helped drive PHR adoption across the military population.

In the past, PHR adoption has been relatively low due to valid concerns from both the provider as well as the consumer/patient communities. The practitioners have expressed reservations about the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the PHR data. While the patients have raised concerns regarding the privacy, security and confidentiality of their personal healthcare data. Where other large corporations have tried and failed, Spin Systems, Inc. was able to overcome these PHR adoption barriers and support the growth of DoD’s PHR enrollment from a mere 2,000 to over 200,000 active enrollees within a short eight-month period. Spin Systems was not only able to strengthen consumer confidence with the placement of a secure, DoD certified, and HIPAA-compliant system, but also empowered the clinical practitioners with near real-time access to the patient’s complete record of care information.

“One of the reasons PHR hasn’t been a success for others in the past is because patients and providers want to see their information online– all of it – in a timely fashion from anywhere (desktop or mobile devices). When that is enabled, consumer confidence and product adoption is higher, and overall, it’s a better experience for all involved,” said Sharath Sadashivan, Product Manager at Spin Systems, Inc.

Spin’s own product, SDACA (Spin Data Aggregation Collection and Analytics) platform, allows users to collect, analyze, and deliver information –approximately 1.5 billion patient records per day from various locations around the world.

“Spin Systems has years of experience in data aggregation and collection across multiple channels, and making this information available using secure, open-standards-based data-exchange interfaces,” said CEO and President of Spin Systems, Inc., Wael Ali. “For companies looking to build front-end PHR, EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems or patient portals, Spin Systems can provide the backbone data services since we understand Healthcare IT and clinical data management.”
