Lagging technological infrastructure and the associated costs to upgrade, historically has been the fallback industry excuse for not taking a project to the next level of innovation. Meggitt Training Systems set the industry standard with the release of its FATS® M100 architecture. The flexibility of the FATS® M100 architecture has allowed Meggitt to continue this innovative trend and release new simulation training advancements that continue to expand the possibilities for training.
This system cost-effectively supports multiple, simultaneous simulation and training modes using a flexible systems architecture. A 3D Marksmanship Training environment along with Meggitt’s tetherless BlueFire® weapon simulators and the after action review (AAR) allows engagement and shot assessment in a 3D virtual environment while providing detailed trainee diagnostics for skill reinforcement and/or correction. The detailed shot analysis, automatic assessment and coaching capabilities pulled from doctrine are immediately available on an individual handheld device for trainee reference.
The scalability of the FATS® M100 is highlighted by the concurrent use of multiple through-sight devices for both Marksmanship and Collective (CGI) training. The flexible architecture ensures maximum trainee throughput while offering a growth-path for the future, and maintains the system’s performance and feedback essential for training.
At ITEC this year, Meggitt Training Systems will provide private demonstrations of the convertible, fully-sensored, tetherless BlueFire® M4 simulator; 3D Marksmanship training mode and HD video courseware; new advanced through-sight devices; a new wireless, tablet-based training tool; and automatic coaching tools.
