Arise Virtual Solutions, the leading, global provider of virtual/work-at-home business process outsourcing (BPO) and crowdsourcing solutions, announced today that it has been awarded two innovation awards by the Professional Planning Forum as part of its highly respected 2014 Innovation Awards that celebrate and benchmark excellence in the industry.
The winners were announced at the Professional Planning Forum’s Customer Strategy & Planning conference in Brighton on April 30th. Arise was the overall winner, with individual awards taken by Santander, Webhelp UK, UPC, Capital One, LV= and Neopost. Commenting on the awards, Arise EMEA CEO, David Cartwright stated: “I am delighted that Arise has gained such recognition from our leading industry peers. This really feels like a coming of age for homeworking within the contact centre industry. It is also a great endorsement for the professionalism and flexible delivery of our network of Independent Business Owners (Arise’s service providers) across the whole of the UK and Ireland.”
Arise Virtual Solutions gained the overall Innovation of the Year Award for achieving high performance, homeworking at scale. Their modern, crowdsourcing based model allows people to work flexible schedules, which in turn allows Arise to source rapidly which helps its clients manage volatility, deliver quality and gain 20-30% efficiency savings. They were also presented with the Innovation Award for Agility and Empowerment.
“One key to our model is our service providers are running their own independent businesses, which brings to the table a different mind-set than a call centre employee. This business focus is a key attribute that allows them to hit the metrics on a consistent basis,” explains Keir Greenwood, Client Results Director EMEA, Arise. Steve Woosey, Chief Executive of the Professional Planning Forum, continues, “Arise stood out for the way they re-thought what it means to work in a customer contact centre today. They have provided real choice and accountability and at the front-line, people, planning, communication and technology have come together to break the mould.” The winners were selected by a team, which included 19 experienced industry practitioners, many of them previous winners or finalists. Judges visited each of the 17 shortlisted organisations, and then assessed them against a strict set of criteria.
“The PPF award is well deserved recognition. The Arise business model is enabling organisations and organisational structures to evolve the way in which they are meeting customer demands. With customer contact channels proliferating and customer expectations rising, organisations need to be able to innovate and explore new ways of managing demand to deliver great levels of customer experience. We are delighted to have been recognised by this award,” says Arise EMEA Vice President of Business Development, Ken Wheeler.
"Every year judging visits exceed our expectations and amaze our external judges," says Paul Smedley, Chair and Founder of the Professional Planning Forum. "It is exciting to see how customer operations are developing and it is clearer than ever to see how it is our people who build success. Our conference theme this year reinforced what we saw at all our visits to finalists; that our collective success is achieved through our people, understanding the part they play, developing the skills required and creating an environment of innovation.”

Providing the needed data for application development and testing is a huge headache for most organizations. The problems are often the same across companies - speed, quality, cost, and control. Provisioning data can take days or weeks, every time a refresh is required. Using dummy data leads to quality problems. Creating physical copies of large data sets and sending them to distributed teams of developers eats up expensive storage and bandwidth resources. And, all of these copies proliferating...

Malicious agents are moving faster than the speed of business. Even more worrisome, most companies are relying on legacy approaches to security that are no longer capable of meeting current threats. In the modern cloud, threat diversity is rapidly expanding, necessitating more sophisticated security protocols than those used in the past or in desktop environments. Yet companies are falling for cloud security myths that were truths at one time but have evolved out of existence.

Digital Transformation is the ultimate goal of cloud computing and related initiatives. The phrase is certainly not a precise one, and as subject to hand-waving and distortion as any high-falutin' terminology in the world of information technology. Digital Transformation means: handling all the data types being found and created in the organizat...
