HSINCHU, TAIWAN and MILPITAS, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/01/14 -- PROMISE Technology today announced that its Pegasus2 M4 and SANLink2 10G are both now globally available through PROMISE's network of distributors and value added resellers. Unveiled earlier this month at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, the new storage solutions are specifically engineered for creative professionals, and make up part of the world's first end-to-end Thunderbolt 2 to shared storage solution.
The new, small form factor Pegasus2 M4 offers a perfect combination of portability, capacity, performance, and cost. Designed for use with 2.5" HDD/SSD, the innovative, compact Pegasus2 M4 external RAID solution works with the new Mac Pro® and is an ideal solution for professionals working both offsite and in-studio. The Pegasus2 family supports OS X® Mavericks and Windows®-based Thunderbolt hosts.
Connecting a Mac Pro or any Thunderbolt 2 enabled Mac to high performance 10Gb Ethernet network, PROMISE's SANLink2 10G is a Thunderbolt 2 10GBase-T bridge adapter. The SANLink2 10G provides Mac users with versatility for mobile use when offsite, and also enables simpler deployment and a more cost efficient infrastructure for direct Ethernet access from Thunderbolt 2.
"PROMISE shipped the world's first storage solutions with the original Thunderbolt technology, and the addition of the Pegaus2 M4 and SANLink2 10G continues our track record as a leading innovator of storage solutions for the rich media space," said James Lee, CEO, PROMISE Technology. "We have set new standards for performance, flexibility and versatility, opening up a whole new realm of possibilities for multimedia pros and power users."
The Pegasus2 M4 and SANLink2 Thunderbolt 2 to 10GBase-T Ethernet bridge are available now through the global network of PROMISE distributors and value added resellers.
