What if you could re-invent the telephone company and/or OTT (over-the-top) services using WebRTC? Do you remember all of their service upgrades on top of basic phone services? Inbound/outbound calls, vanity and toll-free numbers, 900 numbers, voice messaging, routing menus, yellow pages, unlisted numbers, directory assistance, emergency breakthroughs, and more.
In his session at 2nd WebRTC Summit, Chris Matthieu, founder of Twelephone, will discuss the latest developments on how to leverage WebRTC into the 21st Century "twelephone" service. He will walk you through the services from yesterday and illustrate new WebRTC business model opportunities associated with each one.
Chris Matthieu has two decades of telecom and web experience. He launched his Teleku cloud communications-as-a-service platform at eComm in 2010 that was acquired by Voxeo. Next he built an open source Node.JS PaaS called Nodester that was acquired by AppFog. His new startup is Twelephone (http://twelephone.com). Leveraging HTML5 and WebRTC, Twelephone's BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) is to become the next-generation telecom company running in the Web browser. In 9 short months, Twelephone has nearly achieved feature parity with Skype.

If you’re responsible for an application that depends on the data or functionality of various IoT endpoints – either sensors or devices – your brand reputation depends on the security, reliability, and compliance of its many integrated parts. If your application fails to deliver the expected business results, your customers and partners won't care if that failure stems from the code you developed or from a component that you integrated. What can you do to ensure that the endpoints work as expect...
