DALLAS, TEXAS -- (Marketwired) -- 05/05/14 -- Today at the annual AHOU (Association of Head Office Underwriters) meeting in Indianapolis, AMY RIDER was presented with the Charles A. Will Award. This award is presented annually to the person receiving their FALU (Fellow of the Academy of Underwriters) in the calendar year who has the highest average grade on their 4 ALU Education Program exams.
Optimum Re is extremely proud of Amy's dedication to excellence both in taking her professional exams and her service to her clients. Underwriting services to ceding companies is a key service that has propelled Optimum Re to be considered the 'best reinsurer' by its clients in the latest Flaspohler industry survey. Amy is a key player in helping Optimum earn this reputation.
Amy is currently Underwriting Risk Manager at Optimum Re and she will celebrate her 20th anniversary with Optimum Re in 2014. Her main responsibilities include life and critical illness underwriting, internal and external underwriting auditing and contestable claim review. She also works with client companies on application design, requirement analysis, and underwriting input in the new business einsurance quoting process. She particularly enjoys her role as she sees
firsthand the impact of underwriting and application design on mortality and the claims process. She also enjoys helping Marketing with client relationship management.
Amy is married with two daughters and in addition to senior responsibilities at Optimum somehow also finds time to serve as President Emeritus for the Rocky Mountain Society of Home Office Underwriters.
