TransGlobe Energy Corporation Announces Declaration of Special and Quarterly Dividend

CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/05/14 -- TransGlobe Energy Corporation ("TransGlobe" or the "Company") (TSX:TGL)(NASDAQ:TGA) announces that its Board of Directors has declared a special dividend of US$0.10 per common share and a quarterly dividend of US$0.05 per common share, both of which will be paid in cash. The special dividend is payable to shareholders of record on May 22, 2014, and will be paid on May 28, 2014. The ex-dividend date for the special dividend is May 19, 2014. The quarterly dividend is payable to shareholders of record on June 16, 2014, and will be paid on June 30, 2014. The ex-dividend date for the quarterly dividend is June 11, 2014.

Both the special and quarterly dividends are designated as eligible dividends under the Income Tax Act (Canada).

TransGlobe Energy Corporation is a Calgary-based, growth-oriented oil and gas exploration and development company focused on the Middle East/North Africa region with production operations in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Yemen. TransGlobe's common shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol TGL and on the NASDAQ Exchange under the symbol TGA.
