The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) announced today that on May 27, Frank Micciche will join its Public Policy and Communications team as vice president.
“Frank brings a strong background in strategy, policy and advocacy in state and federal affairs, and a deep knowledge of health care reform,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. “His leadership in advancing health care delivery reform makes him a great addition to our team.”
Mr. Micciche comes to NCQA from the Campaign to Fix the Debt, a non-partisan organization made up of prominent public and private-sector leaders and more than 350,000 grassroots supporters across the country, where he was Vice President for Partnerships and Coalitions. The campaign was founded by National Fiscal Commission Co-Chairs Senator Al Simpson and Erskine Bowles to advocate on behalf of a comprehensive, long-term solution to the rapid growth of America’s national debt.
Prior to this position, Mr. Micciche was a senior advisor on health reform at McKenna, Long & Aldridge, LLP, where he provided policy analysis and strategic guidance to a variety of health care clients.
Mr. Micciche’s service in the public sector includes his time as legislative director in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and four years as the director of state-federal relations for Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA), where he ran the Commonwealth’s Washington, DC office and advised the Governor on federal policy issues – with a particular focus on health care reform.
A graduate of Tufts University, Mr. Micciche holds a master’s degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations. It also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance. NCQA’s Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) is the most widely used performance measurement tool in health care. NCQA’s Web site (ncqa.org) contains information to help consumers, employers and others make more informed health care choices.
