Viseca Selects Axway 5 Suite to Govern Its Flow of Data for Payment Card Services

Protecting time-critical business processes required for payment card services and implementing a highly secure and reliable managed file transfer solution is essential for Viseca Card Services’ business. Axway (NYSE Euronext: AXW.PA), a market leader in governing the flow of data, announced today that Viseca relies on Axway Managed File Transfer (MFT) solution, a part of the Axway 5 Suite, to control its data flows and manage associated business processes to ensure all credit card information moves through its infrastructure in a highly secure way.

With more than one million customers, Viseca is one of the largest Swiss credit card and prepaid card issuers for MasterCard and Visa. The company issues cards at the request of banks and corporate customers, and manages all of the processes including authorization, clearing and settlement, and fraud protection. Given the sensitivity of the transactions, Viseca has to ensure absolute data integrity and security by establishing a data safe to protect cardholder master data. Axway MFT solution, including Axway Gateway and Axway Transfer CFT, offers a single platform handling multiple protocols and complete control over all data flows with a new level of visibility required for MFT governance.

“We were looking for a MFT solution that could handle a wide variety of protocols in a single software package,” said Christian Feuchter, IT system engineer, Viseca. “We have more than 200 different data streams, including the entry of orders, embossing orders and customer correspondence scanned by our partners. In total, we transfer around 500,000 files annually; that’s about a terabyte of data. In addition, our systems have to be available around the clock.”

Viseca selected Axway MFT solution after a comprehensive selection process and based on the highest technical standard. Many of Viseca’s partners already use Axway solutions establishing a proven track record and accelerating the integration into Viseca’s system.

Due to the fully automated Axway MFT infrastructure, Viseca can outsource all backend processes, including the administration of the cards, generating account statements and invoicing between the banks. “All of the services we offer our partners and customers are based on reliable B2B data exchange. The Axway MFT solution plays a central role in our daily business and it’s doing an excellent job,” said Feuchter.

“The fast moving and growing financial environment, along with the data sensitivity, requires optimized managed file transfer governance. We are pleased to see our solution play such a critical role in Viseca’s business operations. Axway’s goal is to provide our clients with the best solutions to help govern critical business interactions across the enterprise’s ecosystem,” said Dave Robinson, senior vice president, sales, Northern EMEA, Axway.

In IT, we sometimes coin terms for things before we know exactly what they are and how they’ll be used. The resulting terms may capture a common set of aspirations and goals – as “cloud” did broadly for on-demand, self-service, and flexible computing. All clouds are not equal. "Once customers get a year into their IoT deployments, they start to realize that they may have been shortsighted in the ways they built out their deployment and the key thing I see a lot of people looking at is - how can I take equipment data, pull it back in an IoT solution and show it in a dashboard," stated Dave McCarthy, Director of Products at Bsquare Corporation, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at @ThingsExpo, held November 1-3, 2016, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
What happens when the different parts of a vehicle become smarter than the vehicle itself? As we move toward the era of smart everything, hundreds of entities in a vehicle that communicate with each other, the vehicle and external systems create a need for identity orchestration so that all entities work as a conglomerate. In this strange new world where more and more power is drawn from business technology, companies are effectively straddling two paths on the road to innovation and transformation into digital enterprises. The first path is the heritage trail – with “legacy” technology forming the background. Here, extant technologies are transformed by core IT teams to provide more API-driven approaches. Legacy systems can restrict companies that are transitioning into digital enterprises. To truly become a lead...

The Internet of Things (IoT) promises to simplify and streamline our lives by automating routine tasks that distract us from our goals. This promise is based on the ubiquitous deployment of smart, connected devices that link everything from industrial control systems to automobiles to refrigerators.
