Egenera, a leader in converged infrastructure and cloud management software, today announced the addition of Rick Carbone as vice president of North American sales. As more organizations migrate to multi-cloud environments, Carbone will be instrumental in accelerating the growth of Egenera’s customer base which includes both enterprise and service providers, as the demand for multi-cloud management platforms increase.
“As the cloud market matures and the need to orchestrate services across many cloud platforms continues to grow, it is key for businesses to have an understanding of how to effectively implement and manage all their different environments and applications,” said Rick Carbone. “As more and more organizations make the transition to a multi-cloud strategy, I am excited to be part of an organization that is at the forefront of the market and delivering solutions that simplify management across these complex environments.”
Rick Carbone brings over 35 years of enterprise computing and professional services sales leadership experience to Egenera. As vice president of sales, Carbone will lead both the direct and indirect sales channels in North America.
Prior to joining Egenera, Carbone served as vice president of sales for Unisys’ Northeast Region. During his 32 year tenure at Unisys he held key leadership positions in sales, sales operations, marketing, product management and channel development. In his most recent position, Carbone led a team of executives who solved clients’ mission critical business issues through the implementation of enterprise computing technologies and professional service solutions.
Carbone holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science from Kean University and has participated in several Executive Management forums at Columbia University and The Wharton School of Business.
“Rick brings significant experience in helping customers create lasting value with cutting edge technologies,” said Pete Manca, CEO at Egenera. “There is a lot of ambiguity around where applications should be run, which cloud services an organization should use, and how to manage it all, and we are looking forward to building on Rick’s extensive experience to further both existing and future customers’ needs.”
