TP-LINK®, a global provider of networking products, today announced the Archer C7 - AC1750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router - now available from major Canadian retailers. The new, advanced router has a suggested list price of $119.99, appealing to budget conscious consumers who desire value, without sacrificing essential features and performance.

The next-generation router supports the latest 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology, delivering super-fast data transfer rates of up to 1.75Gbps: three times faster than the previous wireless 802.11n standard. The Archer C7 operates over both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands to give users two dedicated networks for optimal throughput: simple tasks like sending e-mails or web browsing can be handled by the 2.4GHz band, while bandwidth intensive tasks like online gaming or HD video streaming can be processed in a fast, buffer-free mode in the less congested 5GHz band - all at the same time.

The device's built-in print server supports wireless printing from different computers by connecting a USB printer to the router. Additionally, for users preferring a wired connection, the Archer C7 boasts four gigabit LAN and one gigabit WAN ports (10x faster than standard Ethernet connections) for an ultrafast and lag-free experience. Two multi-functional USB ports can power a robust Internet network by sharing printers, flash storage, media players, and an ftp server when away on the road.

The Archer C7 comes with 3 detachable external 5dBi antennas serving the 5GHz band and 3 internal antennas for the 2.4GHz band: this provides users with stronger wireless coverage and reliability, across greater distances from anywhere in a large home or office.

Other Archer C7 features include:

-- Easy one-touch WPA wireless security encryption with the WPS button

-- IP-based Bandwidth Control makes it easier to manage the bandwidth of
    devices connected to the router

-- Guest Network Access provides secure Wi-Fi access for guests sharing a
    home or office network

-- IPv6 supported, meeting the demands for the next generation of the
    Internet

"TP-LINK routers have advanced features that you would only expect to see on more expensive devices," says Mark Macaulay, director of sales for TP-LINK Canada. "We offer solid security, parental controls, and embrace the connected home with easy access to USB printers and external storage drives for sharing data."

Macaulay adds, "TP-LINK can now offer Canadian consumers and SMBs unprecedented price-performance for all of their wireless networking product needs."

Qosmos has announced new milestones in the detection of encrypted traffic and in protocol signature coverage. Qosmos latest software can accurately classify traffic encrypted with SSL/TLS (e.g., Google, Facebook, WhatsApp), P2P traffic (e.g., BitTorrent, MuTorrent, Vuze), and Skype, while preserving the privacy of communication content. These new classification techniques mean that traffic optimization, policy enforcement, and user experience are largely unaffected by encryption. In respect wit...
