QAD Inc. (NASDAQ:QADA) (NASDAQ:QADB), a leading provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions and services for global manufacturers, today announced that the fourth version of the AIAG/Odette Materials Management Operations Guideline/Logistics Evaluation (MMOG/LE), a tool to improve the performance for the global automotive supply chain, has been published. Automotive suppliers are encouraged to download and review the new version at www.aiag.org or www.odette.org.
The MMOG/LE tool enables organizations in the global automotive supply chain to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of its supply chain capability and performance. Members of the MMOG/LE Global Workgroup include the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), Odette, OEMs, suppliers and service providers such as QAD. This committee developed the updated standards that are now available.
QAD Automotive Director Terry Onica briefed QAD customers on the latest revision at QAD Customer Conference Explore in New Orleans. As a MMOG/LE Workgroup member, Onica was able to provide insight on the changes as well as provide consultation on the steps automotive organizations should take to implement the new version and meet global customer requirements for OEMs such as Ford, Chrysler, General Motors, and others in 2014 and beyond.
“The new standards will start to be required by OEMs as early as August 2014, which makes it imperative that automotive suppliers review the newest guidelines with Version 4 and begin the planning process to integrate these new standards into their materials management processes,” stated Dan Howe, AIAG GM management loan.
“MMOG/LE Version 4 is one of the most advanced prescriptive protocols for the supply chain that can be used by manufacturers and provides a roadmap for improved efficiency in the global automotive supply chain,” said John Canvin, Managing Director, Odette. “Adopting MMOG/LE Version 4 ensures that manufacturers and their suppliers are adhering to the best industry standards and operating at the highest level.”
“It has been an honor to contribute to defining the evolving content of MMOG/LE to improve the performance of all tiers within the global automotive supply chain,” said Terry Onica. “I’m proud to work closely with the AIAG and Odette on behalf of QAD to provide training in North America, Eastern Europe and in the Asia-Pacific regions. It’s extremely gratifying to help elevate the efficiency of manufacturers and the quality of their delivery performance to the auto industry.”

Forward-looking statements are based on the company’s current expectations and assumptions regarding its business, the economy and future conditions. A number of risks and uncertainties could cause actual results to differ materially from those in the forward-looking statements. These risks include, but are not limited to, evolving demand for the company's software products and products that operate with the company's products; the company's ability to sustain license and service demand; the company's ability to leverage changes in technology; the company's ability to sustain customer renewal rates at current levels; the publication of opinions by industry and financial analysts about the company, its products and technology; the reliability of estimates of transaction and integration costs and benefits; the entry of new competitors or new offerings by existing competitors and the associated announcement of new products and technological advances by them; delays in localizing the company's products for new or existing markets; the ability to recruit and retain key personnel; delays in sales as a result of lengthy sales cycles; changes in operating expenses, pricing, timing of new product releases, the method of product distribution or product mix; timely and effective integration of newly acquired businesses; general economic conditions; exchange rate fluctuations; and, the global political environment. In addition, revenue and earnings in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software industry are subject to fluctuations. Software license revenue, in particular, is subject to variability with a significant proportion of revenue earned in the last month of each quarter. Given the high margins associated with license revenue, modest fluctuations can have a substantial impact on net income. Investors should not use any one quarter's results as a benchmark for future performance.
