Spotlighting its 5th Generation of Green Memory and its latest enterprise SSDs, Samsung Electronics will discuss how its solutions work with Cisco’s UCS server family, at Cisco Live 2014, May 18-22 in the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
On Mon., May 19, at 10 a.m., Samsung’s Corporate Vice President of Memory Marketing, Jim Elliott, will join Ram Appalaraju, Cisco’s Vice President of Data Center Product Management & Marketing to discuss how Green Memory and enterprise SSDs help data centers with UCS-based infrastructure obtain the best TCO results. The presentation, “Maximizing UCS Server Efficiency with Memory and SSDs,” (Session ID#: BRKPCS-2047), will be held in Room South 302 and last about 50 minutes.
Today, IT decision-makers need to address the higher performance demands, increased cooling costs, greater power consumption and rising CO2 emissions inherent in increased data traffic. Elliott and Appalaraju’s presentation will focus on the ways in which Green memory and SSD storage solutions improve ROI for IT decision-makers, while helping the environment.
- In Booth #1813, Samsung will demonstrate improved performance from using its memory and memory-based products with Cisco’s B460 blade and C240 servers.
- Attendees can also view a Samsung DDR4 LRDIMM bandwidth demo on a memory intensive application for x86-based enterprise server and cloud computing applications.
In addition, Sylvie Kadivar, senior director of strategic DRAM marketing at Samsung Semiconductor Inc. will deliver a 15-min. presentation on the advantages of Green memory and SSDs in UCS environments. This will be held in the Theater Solutions Showcase in Cisco Booth #1129 on Wednesday, May 21, at 3 pm.

Major trends and emerging technologies – from virtual reality and IoT, to Big Data and algorithms – are helping organizations innovate in the digital era. However, to create real business value, IT must think beyond the ‘what’ of digital transformation to the ‘how’ to harness emerging trends, innovation and disruption. Architecture is the key that underpins and ties all these efforts together. In the digital age, it’s important to invest in architecture, extend the enterprise footprint to the cl...
