ST. LOUIS, MO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/09/14 -- Scrubs & Beyond recently transitioned to a new headquarters location. A need for additional office space to house the many home office employees was necessary with the acquisition of the Life Uniform and Uniform City brands that took place in August of last year. This new building is a beautiful 49,000 sq foot building designed by The Bick Group, a design-build firm. They reused and reclaimed much of the locations original Stark printing building. The building designers were committed to going "local." All building materials were sourced within a 500 mile radius of St. Louis. As a result of the new structure's focus on energy efficiency, recycled and locally sourced materials, this building is LEED GOLD certified.
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design. Building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification for energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, and improved indoor environmental quality. It received a GOLD certification, receiving a score within the 60-79 point range on the LEED certification scale. The certification recognizes the best of the best in building strategies and practices.
